We check in and then we go to the pool. Then we go to Downtown Disney and shop. And on the last day we go to DD and shop. The last minute shopping for all my friends and family.

One thing I really like about MYW is now you don't have to break the bank to go to the parks on the first/last day. It changes each trip where I head first; for a long time it was MGM, but now with Everest it's usually AK. It's nice to be able to get to the magic as soon as you arrive.

We usually arrive late morning, so we always head to Downtown Disney first. When we are sitting on the patio at Wolfgang Puck's overlooking the water, we know that we are finally on vacation. We take it easy the first day so we will be ready to go first thing in the morning. To keep our relaxed pace, we take the first park bus that we see and let the magic begin.

We try to get in around noon or one, then we check in at our hotel & head to Magic Kingdom! This year we are doing a character dinner to start off & then we always do spectromagic & wishes. It really gets you in the mood for your trip!:sohappy:

Both times I've been we've gone to Epcot on the first day. I've always had a late flight, so no time at all to do anything other than sleep when we get there!

For us, on the first day in the afternoon (after check in) we let fate take over and take the first bus that is either there or shows up. So we never know which park we are going to.:drevil:

We get there in the early afternoon. We don't hit the parks on the first day to both save money and keep things relaxed. Downtown Disney is usually our stop for the evening, but this year it will be the Contemporary for dinner at the California Grill. Should be fun. So close now! Hello, September! :sohappy:

We arrive into Orlando at about 15:00 from the UK, so we'll prbably be to tired to go to a park. We'll probably check in, have a swim, then head to DTD for the evening.

On our arrival day, we leave our house before the sun comes up so we can arrive at WDW in the afternoon. We get checked in and then check out our hotel, get changed, and stretch after the long car ride. Then we get dinner, either in the food court or at Downtown Disney. We shop and maybe head over to ride the monorail around. (Our son loves the monorail). We try to absorb the Disney Magic! Then we get some rest early and head to AK first thing the next morning. We then head over to one of the other parks that afternoon.

I usually don't get to the world until 12, so I usually eat lunch at my resort, hop on a bus, and hit up the Studios. I usually try to ride ToT first. My plans may have to be altered after my last trip though, I might have to go to AK and ride EE first.

My normal first day is:

Arrive at MCO approx 6:30am Magic Express to POP by about 7:45am. Check-in, if room aval shower and get ready if not just hit the bathroom and change and out the door to MGM. Play in the park for most of the day then maybe a nap then AC that night (that is how i know I am on vacation). Then a good nights sleep to get to EPCOT first thing the next day.

This trip (29 days) will start like the above but once we get there, it is off to AK. I have been watching them build EE for how many years now, nothing will stop that from being the first attraction I go on this trip. Then we will hit MK in the afternoon, 2 of the people I am traveling with have never been to WDW and they have to see the castle to know they are there.

We rarely hit the parks on our first day...even with a 7am flight (tough now with kids), we don't hit MCO until 10am. After getting a car and checking in, it's time for lunch.

Then it's off to a grocery store for supplies - BEvERages (although I'm not a big fan of American brew), soda and pop-tarts for breakfasts (love that sugar rush), snacks for carrying in the parks (goldfish crackers, etc), and the like.

Then, depending on who we are traveling with, we often split up. Some people nap - especially those who need a rest after waking up at 3am. Others, like me, go resort-hopping. I usually do a monorail loop, stopping off and remembering past stays at each hotel. Then I hop on the buses and just ride around, stopping at resorts that I haven't been to before. Then it's back to my resort - often Fort Wilderness.

The group, often my family, my parents and my sister's family, grabs dinner and then we vary up the evening activity. Poker or Euchure are not uncommon, with the Resort channels on in the background. My dad and I often hop in the golf cart for small cigar (kind of a ritual) and a drive to Crockett's for a nightcap.

Everyone who needs sleep crashes early. I never sleep more than 4 hours a night, so I have to force myself to sleep that night.

One of the greatest suggestions I've seen in these forum discussions !!

You certainly need to have an itenerary for your trip when spending the money you do at WDW, but don't structure it so tightly that everything you do is a "must" !
Having a bit of spontanaeity and taking time to enjoy yourself is the best way to insure you'll want to come back again. Slow down just a gear or two and you'll get a lot more out of the trip !

I was thinking of hitting MK our first day after a noon check-in, but after reading palofmickey's post I'm going to do the same.
First bus leaving Melody Hall at All Star Music is where I'm going our first day, Sat. 11/25 ! :xmas:

Wow how great!!! Enjoy!

We do different things all the time depending what time we arrive, this time we come in at 3:30pm on 9/7, and since we are staying at the Beach Club, if its a nice day we may just head over to the pool and chill out, then go over to Epcot for dinner or MK to see the "New" Pirates!
