I think you should recruit Jimmy Thick.
I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in with his pixie dusted two cents.
Jimmy did chime in and was surprisingly supportive!

I hate it when people keep changing their avatars.Jimmy did chime in and was surprisingly supportive!
There have been a few attempts that I'm aware of. The "if we talk about it WDW will be embarrassed into fixing it" concept has never really blossomed as a forum principle. Good luck trying again...
I honestly think there's ample "refreshingly honest opinions" here on WDWMagic to meet any need.
Of course, I may be part of the "Pixie-Dust addled" mob you're trying to avoid! LOL
Fix The Magic was a good idea, but whenever I went to the site, I really didn't understand what I should do there. All I could find were threads to report things that were wrong. I seriously don't go to WDW enough to help in that area, so I didn't know what I could do to help.
Someday, Walt Disney World will be in it's best shape again. But until this day comes, remember this:
"We will never forgive. We will never forget. We will fight NextGen. We will protest for the parks to be refurbished. We will fight in every way we can. WE CAN WIN!"
Put the information front and center so that it's visible to the reader.
The biggest thing with starting a new site is you have to have content that keeps people coming back. You are going against established sites, like this one, Dis and all the other which have years upon years of content, not to mention established posters who only post here. Its not easy to lure those readers away when they know what they have and like already.
If you really wanted to do something different, I would make it an adults only site where language/flaming would be permitted, you need a hook to make it different from the norm, otherwise, I'm going to say, it will fail because if you try to make another WDWmagic, your going to fail before you register your domain.
Jimmy Thick- A no holds bar Disney forum? I could even go for that...
I'm sure our Spirited friend could be the Lutz of WDW if he so desired...but I think he's a busy man, is he not?I agree with old Yoda here. It is great when you have all this energy and you want to do something productive with it (believe me, I know). But just as I toldthe FixTheMagic guys, I'm going to say you shouldn't jump into those waters unless you really know how to swim (with the sharks) and have defined goals and how you wish to accomplish them.
If you simply want to talk about what's wrong at WDW and what could be done to improve the place, then why not do so from here? This is a well-known, respected site. The biggest problem I see with the fan community is how splintered it is and fragmenting further doesn't solve that unless you have figured out the solution that no one else has. I don't want to be negative when the goal is a positive one, but if it were easy then we wouldn't be on our second straight decade of decline at WDW.
I would think long and hard before you simply wind up more angry and disillusioned than you are now.
If you can't do something like this like a job (or pay people to do so)then you're likely not gonna accomplish much. WDW needs an Al Lutz type and I don't see anyone like him out there. And that's what you need to draw the eyes of the REAL media, you need to give WDW the PR black eyes it so deserves in the mainstream ... that is Step 1 to real positive action.
Which is why a blog or facebook page would work better. It's redundant to have another message board where people complain, but an easy to see, share and upload (taking the pressure off of a few to constatly update, because they're the only ones who can do so) "bulliten" or "wall" would get the message across clearer.
There's also the irony though, of having to keep giving Disney money in order to follow up or check in to see what needs fixing.

If you guys are going to create a site like this, be sure not just to focus on the negative. If anything positive comes along, which DOES happen, you'd want to push that as an example of what WDW can still do.

Iam already seeing way too much compromise just in this thread, so I changed my stance to this possible new site.
You guys will fail, stick with WDWmagic.
Jimmy Thick- Sorry.
