Yeti Repaired

By the way, interesting fact about 3rd shift for those of you interested: did you know that Epcot's 3rd shift is made up of many, many deaf cast members? For whatever reason, over the years more and more hearing impaired persons have found their way to that park's third shift to the point that managers often need to use sign language. Neat little fact.

Get asked enough times if you're so-and-so, and you'll look up that username to see who the heck they are lol. I typically get asked if I'm him, Jim Hill, or any of the top guys in Imagineering. One person is determined to believe I'm Lasseter.

So there you have it, folks... I'm John Lasseter. J/K

Hope you didn't think that I meant you were so and so.. :) These past members are notorious lol...

So jt's rambling putting down people in the know is way off base??

WHOOOODAAATHUNKIT!!!!!

Ok, now can we stop this stupid NEW SHERIFF garbage???

I'm not exactly sure what your first sentence is saying. Please explain.

If you are trying to start a fight between me and Martin/Lee/Steve/Jedi/Corrus or Tirian I don't think it will work. And I certainly never put any of them down if that is what you are suggesting.

Got a complex?? No one is trying to start fights ANYWHERE.. Please, get over it jt... seriously...

Very nice. Thanks for that bit of encouraging news.

Funny thing, just about everything Redis told us about the HM has turned out to be true. The only thing he got wrong was the reversible masks. But I won't be suprised if we find out someday that they do exist. You should take being called redis as a compliment. By the way, you do sound just like him.

You REALLY kept it a secret.
Not really... I knew of a few proposals last summer for some maintainence work to keep the ride open at the same time. I didn`t know one was actually being done. Surprised me as much as the UoE painting did :D

(I can hear the boos and hisses already, but oh well....)

Does it actually matter whether that yeti moved or not? I've been on EE many times and it just seems that you're going by that part of the ride so quickly that you're talking about an animatronic that you can barely see moving for more than a fraction of a second anyway. Just seems like they would want to move it over into view a little more than worry about animating it.

Believe me, when the Yeti is fully animated and the proper show lights are on, you can tell a distinct difference in the ride. It's really hard to explain how those few seconds can make or break the ride, but they do.

I have to agree. I had the same sort of attitude ("What difference does it make?") before riding it in B mode earlier this year.

It makes a huge difference.

So envious. I hope it stays working until I finally get back there.

I enjoyed it when I saw it, so based on the hoopla, it must be a lot better in motion.

Without the animatronic, the roller coaster is decent at best. What sets it apart are it's effects and story, and it's biggest effect is an encounter with a monstrous creature (Yeti) that swoops down and almost knocks your car off of the track. Frankly, seeing him swoop down at you is way more effective then seeing him wave bye-bye while strobe lights are going off.

This is fantastic news, and thanks to WDW Insider for sharing what you know!

All these "little things" that are happening around WDW are really starting to add up!

Although the Yeti is far from a little thing. Can't wait to see the expression on my youngest kid's face when that thing swoops on him next time we're there! (Or mine, for that matter!)

Ahhh...the Yeti is semi-working again. About time.

Now...let's see what we can do about that other waterfall. And the train steam. And the mist. And the blowing snow effect.

Who knows, one day it may finally operate at 100%.

You would think that a Dinosaur refurbishment would be down the line sooner than later. It sure would be nice if the intensity was boosted back up, but that isn't going to happen so hopefully they'll fix the effects.

Glad to hear there is movement again and hopefully the Disco at the top of the mountain will close ;)
I have ridden Dinosaur many, many times (since CTX and I prefer this name, too). I rode it in Januray and it was every bit as intense as I remember. The one thing i did notice, however, is that the running carnotaurus was not running to the left of us, he was just there. So i guess, in that respect, I see your point. However, it is still a pretty intense attraction. I love it. The darkness, colors, and audio volume make this thing a pretty intense experience. Especially when the Carnotaur takes a bite at you.....that roar is deafening........Awesome:sohappy:

Of course it does. It was built to. It cost a shed load of money to. And the whole attraction was advertised around it.

I think dxwwf3 is refering to the multitude of physical and laser effects that havn`t worked in years for various reasons.
