I hate to dig up an old posting but I did not want to start a new one. I don’t have exact dates but soon Everest will be closed for an extended period and the Yeti will be fixed. Sorry if this was already posted somewhere else but I could not find it anywhere.

The above was post 833, in case anyone other than me was wondering just how many posts have been made SINCE the big announcement as compared to how many were made when this thread was originally announced.

How is that fixed Yeti working for everyone? It must be exciting to see it in its original "A Mode." :)

I did see it in 2006 and was very excited at what the Disney imagineering team had accomplished with the bounding, lunging, arm-swooshing Yeti. My advice to people ever since when a big new attraction opens: Go quickly before the good stuff breaks!

My friends rode everest for the first time Wed morning while we were down for the half marathon. I didn't tell them anything before the ride and then I asked them what they thought of the giant yeti animatronic at the end and they said "what yeti animatronic?". They noticed a couple flashing lights they thought, and a roar, but didn't even see the yeti in B mode. At least they enjoyed the coaster I suppose ; )

Why are you taunting us with bringing up A Mode? Its sad that Disney can fix a steam boiler which doesn't make much of a difference to me, but they won't simply close down EE for a few months and fix the yeti so that guests can truly enjoy the ending by having an encounter with an actual yeti that everybody on the train can see. Also, if so many people say that they've seen the crumbling concrete, then why not just pour a new sheet of concrete over the cracked one, or just put asphalt in the cracks and seal it? While this goes on,Small World, Splash, and BTMRR close down when one effect breaks down (ex: hopping Brer Rabbit @ Splash), while EE has never been closed for a refurbishment. AK needs to scrap "Dino rama" (a.k.a "Crap o Rama), but keep DINOSAUR!, because that's one of AK's good ride. Also, not how many AK effects don't work: Log truck on Kali Rapids, DINOSAUR's dinosaurs, the yeti and the fog on Everest. Also, on ITTBAB(It's tough to be a bug), the Hopper AA went missing even though its a part of the story. Bottom line: DIsney needs to step it up with AK. The only hope now is Avatarland. Whew, OK now my rant's over. THNX for reading

Because neither of those would be acceptable repair methods for a support structure. Also there is conflicting information on here about where the actual fault lies. Rumors abound for concrete foundation, sled or frame it is mounted on, etc. etc.

all that those things would accomplish are cosmetic, nothing short of a re-pour(replace completely) would make a foundation whole again, and able to take the loads that were meant for it.(if indeed this is what is really wrong with it)

So Uni is rumored to have a Kong that will chase the ride vehicle in the upcoming attraction? If this pans out, and were stuck with the disco king on everest... wow. Sad day for imagineering.
From what I heard that rumor is not true anymore. But I've heard that Uni is still producing a big Kong AA, just not one that chases after you.
