Uber drivers and maid services aren't an obvious tip?
No, not to me.
How about if you stay one night, how can the maid show you she is worthy of your tip?
I dont usually tip maid service at hotels. I dont know hardly anyone that does, actually.
At this point I realize you aren't changing your ways but don't get mad at people for pointing out that you are how to put this... Very frugal and not exactly kind in a monetary sense to folks that rely on tips.
Relying on tips is still not my fault. Tips are optional.

Let me see if I understand your view.

If I go to Cinderellas Royal Table for lunch for a family of 4, the cost is $88 per adult, and $52 a child, for a total of about $291. No drinks or dessert. Then I pay 10% on top of that, a $30 tip for an hour of service, plus the $9.98 tipped minimum wage for a total of $40 that hour.

My local restaurant total for the same family is less than $100, a 10-15% tip is about 10-15 dollars, half what I am leaving at Cinderellas at an even higher 15% tip rate.

Then there is pressure to tip higher than 10% at Disney with what have been claimed in this forum as extortion and threats. Now, if the tipped wage was $2.13 and Cinderellas Royal Table was $40 per adult, and $25 per child, we would have a different discussion on tips. But somehow I am the bad guy because I no longer tip 18-20% with these new factors?

They aren't making minimum wage, they never did.
Anyway, I'm done with this "debate". I'm always left depressed seeing how small people are willing to be.

I am not claiming minimum wage, I did claim an increase in tipped minimum wage.
It always seems the people who think they are the better caring ones, always seem to find a way to insult others who disagree without even taking the time to understand the other side. Tipping 10% at Disney doesn’t make me small.

Yeah, being cheap regardless of age isn't something to be proud of. There is a large difference between being frugal and being cheap.
Where did I say I dont tip at restaurants? Quote me on that. 🤷‍♂️

Just because I dont agree with the system doesnt mean I dont "play by the rules."

How is it the customers responsibility to pay you extra just because the job you're choosing to do screws you over? If you give good service you'll generally get tips but acting entitled to them is exactly how you don't get any.

People like this is why places should just get rid of tips increase costs which will end up being more expensive to eat out.... Every study shows it. Pathetic

I would rather pay extra for a meal if that meant getting out of mandatory tipping culture. All these countries have it figured out except us.

Crazy that yall side with evil business practice. Blame your bosses. Not me.

I am sorry, but this is exactly what has happened, are you not following the debate?

Instead of getting rid of tips, tipped wage went up, increasing dining expense. With servers making more, it is common knowledge that tipping has been reduced. I also empathized with wait staff with the unintended negative effects of the increase in the tipped wage, but at the end of the day, 18-20% tipping is becoming an outdated practice, especially with the tipped wage continuing to increase.

Tipping servers 10% no matter where you are makes you small. And cheap.

My issue when it comes to people who don't tip servers due to "bad service" is whether it is try

How you treat the waitstaff shows you everything about a person.... I've found this true for decades.... You can't argue with these types.... They are dead wrong but they are cheap/small.

So you want to switch to a system where you HAVE to pay more money...from a system where you get the choice on how much more you spend?

You want to change to a system where the business has to charge the customer more due to increased insurance costs and taxes which will be passed on to....you the customer?

Let me see if I understand. I leave a $30 tip on an overpriced $292 meal, instead of $50 @18% and I deserve to have my food spit in and called names?

Seems to me you are being ungrateful, entitled, and greedy more than me being cheap.
