Wait, have we really set the bar that low?
Sometimes the pixie dusters can be as illogical as the doom and gloomers.

I'm glad they are taking the time and putting in some effort to make the monorails look good. It's not easy to keep things looking shiny and new in that environment. I just wish they'd make a smaller effort more often instead of a larger effort less often, so that things continually look good instead of putting things off until they look bad and then things have to be done. I mean, how hard is it to wash them once a week so the exterior doesn't get so dingy?
I've been pointing out how dingy they've been for a long time (and agreed, how hard is it to wash them?). I'm glad they're doing something about it. Not sure why some seem to think being happy they are is illogical or being a pixie duster or not holding them to the standards they once set for themselves.
Most people are happy things are finally being maintained. It's the dusters who get their panties twisted if people point out this should be done anyway (but still happy it's being done).
how cute! It's not hard to get through your brain
This fetish for constant condemnation is pathetic and tiring
Makes me wonder, are there automated systems to clean a monorail? like a carwash like system that can "hook" on the monorail line on the maintenance bays?I've been pointing out how dingy they've been for a long time (and agreed, how hard is it to wash them?). So, I suppose that when you are working, someone is paying you to do your job and do it right, then any praise for a job well done or reward for effort is unwelcome in your world? So people that get tips for doing what they are getting paid to do to begin with, should not be happening, because, they are doing what they should have been doing from day one. And, if your kid excels in school, doing what he/she is supposed to be doing, does not require any positive feedback and the fact that they are doing what is expected should be its own reward? Damn, I don't think I want to live in your world. Why are people being so complimentary? This is how all the monorails are supposed to look every. single. day. Just goes to show how little Disney actually cares about them. Enjoy Monorail Orange as much as you can as isn't going to look like that for long.
I'm thinking that if you had as many people tramping through your house a day as they do at WDW, I don't think I would want to see what condition your house is in. When you consider the impossible job it might be, I don't think you folks really know what to realistically expect in the line of cleanliness.Yes, one out of twelve. The other eleven are still filthy. Disney magic right there. I willl save my compliments until the day all of the trains look that good inside and out and stay that way permanently through frequent maintence. Something that appears to be lacking. Orange may look good now but when is it scheduled for another spruce up? a year from now? two years? five years? It won't look that good a few months from now that's for sure.
If you actually cared enough you would be criticising too, by complaining things get done and improvements are made.
Imagine if they had something like that. They could have clean monorails every week in a very speedy fashion.Something like that would make sense to me. You'd think they'd have that, no? But it doesn't seem like it.
Lets get real, there are like 3 - 4 of these systems in the world and there should be a custom built machine to clean the beams to keep them white and pretty? A crew with scissor lifts on flatbed with a pressure washer could do the job in no time. Just give the the budget and the mandateMakes me wonder, are there automated systems to clean a monorail? like a carwash like system that can "hook" on the monorail line on the maintenance bays?
DL has a huge solar gain on their trains. We know how crappy the AC is on the WDW trains - keep them as white as possible for the inevitable holds and stoppages when the non operating windows won't allow a breeze to do the job.I'm used to being in the minority with some of my thoughts LOL but I'm there with you.
I don't know that the current scheme is "classy". I'd call Disneyland's "classy". Ours are ... nice. "Classic" maybe. I think they're slightly dated. That being even though I'd like them to all be solid colors I'm not sure how it would actually look ... lol
You'll have to be more explicit. I have been riding the Monorails at WDW for 34 years now and have never encountered a problem with the AC. Do you folks dream a lot or what, cause I'm thinking fear motivated nightmares that the brain interprets as real.DL has a huge solar gain on their trains. There are wash systems that currently exist that railroads use to clean their diesel-electric locomotives, I believe Amtrak also uses such a system to wash their cars. Even beyond that, I would think you could modify a car-wash system easily enough to accomplish this job too. The biggest challenge would be the increased expense of building one of these systems 15 - 20 ft off the ground around a beam. However, that having been said, on the exterior, Orange looks great currently, the other monorails are either have large patches of scrapes/scuffs, or are so filthy as to completely ruin the aesthetic. The time to commit to a regular washing of the outside - either by hand, or by an automated system - is at hand. The insistence on cleanliness is of the quintessential things that makes Disney, well, DISNEY!Lets get real, there are like 3 - 4 of these systems in the world and there should be a custom built machine to clean the beams to keep them white and pretty? I don't know what drugs you are on but I want some so I can disconnect from reality too. It is a common complaint that the AC is weak or non-existent. I rode them 500 straight days (when running) and I always checked the car before I boarded to see if the AC was working. Habit I got into after being trapped in a hot, smelly car too often. Maybe we should do a poll? You'll have to be more explicit. I have been riding the Monorails at WDW for 34 years now and have never encountered a problem with the AC.
