Would you rather.....

Well, I know it's not an option, but I'd stay at a moderate resort and not buy many souvenirs, and eat mainly at QS locations (one or two sit-down restaurants for a week). Of course, this is what I do all the time, but it works and it makes me happy!

Answering your question with one of the choices given, I'd go with the Value resort. I need my Disney fix. I'm dying after seven months of no Disney. I couldn't wait another year and a half.

that's tough. for me it'd depend on who i'm going with. with my gf it'd be deluxe or PORS princess room (I loved the detail in that room and i'm sure she would too). if her son was with us i'd probably do AoA Cars room (he loves Cars and that was my fave of the suites at that resort) anyone else i'd go with and i'd go as inexpensive as i could resort wise. dining on quick service and bringing food to keep costs down is doable too, but it'd be heartbreaking to me to pass on some of the nicer dining options the whole time.

after weighing the options, and i figure most ppl go with ppl close and special to them, i'd say wait til you can take the trip you really want to take. i got a 5 day trip coming next month with my sis. the next time will be probably with my future wife and my stepson. it'll be the trip i want for us to experience. it'll take a couple of years of saving, but it'll be amazing and sooo worth it :D

Britt, I was in that position in 2010. Money was a bit tighter than usual, so I stayed at a value and made it a shorter trip. I did not enjoy that trip very much. I'm sure the value resorts are fine for most, but Pop didn't suit me at all. Personally, I would rather skip a year than stay at a value.

Wait and take the trip you really want to take rather than go early and think of all the things you couldn't have/do because you didn't. Disney is an expensive place. I'd hate to see you get there and then not be able to have as much fun because you are so constrained by budget...believe me, if you say you'd be on a "super tight budget," there is a very real possibility that will be on your mind the entire time you are there. And where is any fun in that? Saving is worth it. And that would allow you to do maybe some fun minor things around your area or even in the surrounding states in the summer you dont go when you are not at all WDW (sorry, am a big encourager of not solely vacationing at Disney)

Yup, I stay wait a year. Your not going to miss very much not to mention Mine coaster will be open when you do return. Also waiting might give you the chance to save up enough to visit UNI they have some new offerings that may be open. As much as I love to visit I would rather wait to have the best trip possible then to go on a strict budget, besides we really dont know when the next trip will happen. You go on a strict budget and you might not beable to visit again for a long time. I say wait and do it right.....it just might be your last visit for a while.

I would still go on a tight budget. I'd rather go and enjoy rather than wait ANOTHER year. To think about sitting at home and having to count down another +365 days. Yeek:eek:

Well, value is just not an option for us no matter what the budget. We are just too miserable in double beds to justify going that route. So, it would really come down to mod vs. deluxe. If we could still pull off a decent amt of TS meals and fun stuff- we'd probably consider going with the moderate, but if we had to cut too much of that we'd probably just save up for the following year.

We have friends who are Disney fanatics too. They just booked the Contemporary for their 25th anniversary for next December. Whenever we see each other the first thing said is "How many days?" Other people around us wonder what the heck are they talking about?

I would wait and not go on a tight budget (we have no issue whatsoever with values, they are our choice). It would be tough for the young-uns to understand the budget restraints. Plus, as mentioned above, Fantasyland Expansion will be complete/near complete.

Again, we have no issue with the values and prefer to stay there and spend the cash elsewhere. The $ difference between a value and a mod is enough to fly vs. drive....well worth the trade for our clan.

Thats a toughie I always stay at a value but i always go for 10 plus days and i always do the delux dining with alot of extra money to buy things drink etc. If i was to go on a tight budget as 7 days value quick serve with no money to buy stuff I would probably wait.

WARNING: I come from the land of old people. My philosophy of life present and past is..tomorrow is not promised.:( If I had to decide whether to stay in a more expensive place to sleep or a less expensive place to sleep, now as opposed to then, the answer isn't even in need of thought.

I would do even one better...I would stay offsite for a lot less money and go both now and then. But that's just me and when I'm sleeping I pick up very little ambiance from my room. The inside of my eyelids look exactly the same no matter where I am. :)
