Go to WDW on a super tight budget, staying in a Value resort, to be there a year earlier (2013)? Or save up that money and stay in a Mod/Deluxe, but wait an extra year.....(2014)?

Go on the budget... although with FLE not 100% open with mine car still under construction I might wait.

I certainly wouldn't wait for a moderate though, at the end of the day what is the real difference, slightly larger room?

Hotels mean NOTHING to me at this point. I need a place to sleep, shower, and use the bathroom. I spend little to no time there. We are up and out the door and we are out super late. To me it is foolish to spend extra money on things we won't be around to enjoy.

We need time for things to happen.

Me personally - I couldn't stand to wait a year. Just some general points (others have already mentioned as well):
1.It's just a place to rest your head
2.Who knows what tomorrow brings.

Or you could do the unthinkable.....and stay off-prop (GASP) at a higher quality than a mod for a value price and go this year.
We stayed at an off property site this last time in Sept and I've vowed I will never again do that.....Although the ones in DTD might be nice! We stayed at Holiday Inn at Orange Lake and it was GORGEOUS. I just hated the driving, parking, the back and forth...and you lose a bit of the "magic" when you're sitting at a traffic light behind a guy with a bunch of garbage in the bed of his truck and a mattress laying on top (with NO ties)...haha.

I seriously wish I knew how to post mobile pics on here!

Greater Kissimmee is an interesting place to say the least. And to me driving and parking are VERY similar to waiting to get the bus to the park, waiting to get the bus back from the park and having to wait for "Foreign Mom" to realize that she can't wheel the loaded with kid stroller onto the bus.

Many commentators write that it's not important what your resort offers because you only sleep there but that depends on the type of WDW-vacation you are planning. We stay for weeks at WDW! At least ten days and up to more than 20 days. We had two trips to WDW were we stayed there for the entire vacation. And if you stay for 8, 10 or more days it isquite interesting what your Disney resort offers. Yacht and Beach club for example feature Stormalong Bay and if you stay there it is easy to spend half a day or more just at the pools. If you do spend more than just a few days at WDW the amenities of your Disney resort begin to gain importance.

We just stayed in a Mod (French Quarter) and have decided that next time we go back, we'd like to stay in a Deluxe. Of course it's much more expensive, and we did really like FQ, but the transportation was horrendous (apparently if you're not staying at Riverside, you're a second class guest) and our aim is to stay at a monorail resort - maybe the Polynesian. I'd rather save up for a few years and have an easier stay.
