As hollywood studios currently stands, right now.
Then i gotta say Universal Studios!
Studios used to be my favourite park, i do love toy story, R&R, ToT and Star Tours now it's been updated - but thats it.. haha, no paraaaade now -

But Universal has men in black, simpsons, a parade(!!), ET (haha), Despicable me, Shrek!, Rip Ride Rockit, (Soon) Transformers!

I love all of these things :D

Water coasters? There are no water coasters at the Universal Orlando Resort. I'm having a hard time believing you really visited.

To give benefit of the doubt...perhaps he's referring to Ripsaw Falls? It's not a water coaster, it's a log flume, but...maybe that's what he's thinking about?

I have to wonder, what will become of these "it's just like Six Flags" folks when MK opens its fourth coaster next year and ends up having the exact same coaster count as IOA? Will they call MK a "coaster park" too?

Of course not, but they'll look even more Dopey than this ride's new occupants.

Until my visit there this past January, I would have agreed with you. It was the most eye opening trip I ever made. I love Disney, but over the years they have lost something. No, it's not light-bulbs or buildings falling apart, it is the magic. It is the ability to build new stuff and make it magical. Magic cost money that Disney currently is unwilling to spend. I walked into Uni and found both of them. Tight themeing, where it was needed, very friendly and helpful Team Members and no closed and vacant buildings and attractions just left there to eventually fall apart. Everything was operating, clean, colorful and the feeling that I couldn't identify, that was missing in WDW, jumped out at me completely.

No, it isn't Disney, but, it is strong worthwhile entertainment. I don't ride Roller Coasters or other thrill rides, but I found so much quality things to do, that I hardly even noticed them. And, BTW, we no longer have Walt either. If you think that anyone currently in control of Disney give a rats behind what Walt would have done, you are living in a world of extreme fantasy. They (Uni) don't have his genius, but Disney doesn't either. Everything they do now, at either place, is copy an old idea and it becomes more of a situation where both are trying to see who can come the closest. Right now...Uni has the edge. JMHO!

We are all entitled to our opinions.....I disagree........I was there in November and I am basing my feelings on that. HP and ET as I remembered form the past they did very well.

The other story lines of the attractions and the characters are where UNI falls apart....there is no warmth or depth to them.

I will give you that Disney under Iger was a failure, except in profits. However if you look at the last 2 or 3 years, things are turning around, the Imagineering is being taken back form the bean counters. This is most obvious in the extensive refit of star attractions and new stuff. They did a amazing job on Cars land......its drawing big crowds out west.

So We will have to agree to disagree on some things and not on others!

Thanks for a good exchange!

PS........I will throw out 1 additional item. I expect within 5 years, Disney will be buying UNI......to get control of Marvel characters and push the thrill ride UNI has!

In my opinion, if anything, it will be Uni buying out Disney Parks. The current Disney, is not pro-theme parks for anything other then a place to put people during the day while they send in Mousekeeping and collect another day of room rent.

He must've seen a picture of Hollywood Rip, Ride, RockIt or something. I was waiting for some as inane as Tonka's Skipper to post. I knew it would happen sooner or later...

Calling both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure "6 Flags" is probably the most inane, rude and upsetting thing that a major fan of Universal can hear. It's like your friend coming back from a Disney vacation and saying it all sucked and that it was a waste of money. It's just rude and dumb. When "6 Flags" builds a land themed as well as Port of Entry, Seuss Landing, The Lost Continent, New York, Hollywood, Jurassic Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, San Francisco, etc., please call me.

Don't even get me started on the poster's comments on Universal's rides themselves... Ugh.

Sometimes I wonder how many Disney social media goons are actually on this site.

If their social media concept is to flame forums with adverse opinions about Universal Parks, then they really have a bad plan.

As a side note, something I found interesting when I was booking my trip to Disneyland California...they actually have a section where they encourage you to visit other area venues.

I sortof found this refreshing, as I could make Disney my "home base" while I visited other places.

WDW, on the other hand, seems to want to keep it all to themselves...
