I was never impressed with UNI.......with the exception of HP...........it's all basically roller coasters and partial theming, a glorified 6 flags.

DHS....hands down!

I just wanted to quote this as proof that people do say such things, lol.

I sometimes see people saying that nobody would EVER say Uni is unthemed or all rollercoasters, lol. Ta-da! They do.

So, would you call Mummy a glorified 6 Flags ride?

Like I am not going to fight with you folks, if you like UNI...........go......enjoy!

But the bottom line is simply there is no warmth to UNI.........no magic!..........the special story lines, history, the feeling that their is a bit of child in all adults, is missing with the UNI rides, in fact, its missing in the whole park with the exception of PH and ET.

Uni will never have what Disney has, they can't, they don't have the genius of Walt!

Now that my opinion......you are all entitled to your own......

AKK

PS I said glorified 6 flags. I found the new Mummy movies to be all special effects and little story line or depth and ride suffering form the same problems.

I'm not even arguing about the ridiculous comments. You're as free to say what you please as anyone.

But in the future when someone says, "Nobody says that" or "Nobody says that anymore"...I will direct them here, lol.

A glorified Six Flags that Disney attempted to copy, but failed miserably.
copied?....Disney?.............really?.........lets talk about that.

1. Disney had the 1 all steel roller coaster, and the system that permitted more then 1 car on the track at the same time.

2. Disney perfected all the autio animatronics in parks today.

3. Disney special effects have been copied by UNI and other parks for years and they never could get most of them right!

4. Disney was making 3d movies at the parks 30 years ago and UNI coped that.

5. Disney was the first true Theme park, set up traffic flows(the one thing UNI messed up at HP) and design theming.

6. Please show my a child who wants to hug the Mummy?........

7. Disney build resorts all themed to various places and worlds......another copied item by UNI.

Well that enough to make my points. You folks can now return to your forever campaign to try and convince people UNI is better then Disney. However with 2 parks closing or near closing due to crowds.........and UNI baring hanging on except for the one thing they did right HP..........

well....enjoy YOUR fantasy.

It's not a fantasy... Look at DHS. A "studio park" with a backlot (that's not even in use), where you get to ride the movies. Sound familiar at all to you? I'll give you a hint, Universal Studios Hollywood debuted in 1964. I'll give you another hint, USO was planned before DHS. It's not a fantasy, it's truth.

I'm not saying you're not allowed to enjoy DHS more. I was just stating a fact.

Until my visit there this past January, I would have agreed with you. It was the most eye opening trip I ever made. I love Disney, but over the years they have lost something. No, it's not light-bulbs or buildings falling apart, it is the magic. It is the ability to build new stuff and make it magical. Magic cost money that Disney currently is unwilling to spend. I walked into Uni and found both of them. Tight themeing, where it was needed, very friendly and helpful Team Members and no closed and vacant buildings and attractions just left there to eventually fall apart. Everything was operating, clean, colorful and the feeling that I couldn't identify, that was missing in WDW, jumped out at me completely.

No, it isn't Disney, but, it is strong worthwhile entertainment. I don't ride Roller Coasters or other thrill rides, but I found so many quality things to do, that I hardly even noticed them. And, BTW, we no longer have Walt either. If you think that anyone currently in control of Disney gives a rats behind what Walt would have done, you are living in a world of extreme fantasy. They (Uni) don't have his genius, but Disney doesn't either. Everything they do now, at either place, is copy an old idea created by Walt and it becomes more of a situation where both are trying to see who can come the closest. Right now...Uni has the edge. JMHO!
