None of the above. Tonka is just stating an opinion. A troll would call someone names such as "dumb", and turn things personal in an opinion-based thread.
Sigh. You are right. And I apologize for that. But reading his posts stuck me as trolling. And his last opinion there to be extremely naïve in the context of what we know about how Disney operates and the fact that Uni/Comcast has shown no interest in selling, nor does it seem likely to in the future. They are going to spend 1 billion+ over the next several years only to throw in the towel and hand over what is becoming a huge asset for them to their biggest competitor? Just no... And Disney doesn't even want to invest in their own parks all that much, and they can already make movies with those characters, which is what they seem to care about at this juncture.. they shot down the Marvel coaster already.

This really should be a no-brainer at this stage in both park's lives. USF is the only one expanding and growing now with the promise of more to come. DHS, while still fun, is in a rut. I will agree that ToT is the best that both have to offer, but that will change when WWoHP2 opens next year.

I challenge any Disney fan to walk around USF lagoon at night, with the park lit up, waiting for CineSpec, and tell me there's no magic at Universal.

In my opinion, if anything, it will be Uni buying out Disney Parks. The current Disney, is not pro-theme parks for anything other then a place to put people during the day while they send in Mousekeeping and collect another day of room rent.

I agree that Iger has at least not been a big parks fane!, but Uni is in no position to buy Disney parks,. I don't think they could avoid to buy 1 park.

A number of years ago, Disney was in *pre* talks with regarding Universal as a whole, the problem seems to have been not only what parts of universal including the parks they would sell and the issue that if Disney brought NBC it would own 2 major US networks, ABC and NBC, and that would be a no no.

Disney is movies and parks support each other, I don't see the parks being sold off..............more I can't wait until Iger leaves as he has said he's ready to move on.

Today, I think the most notable point to Disney buying Uni is that they took marvel, at least on the west coast........I still don't see any reason they would sell Marvel to Disney unless they needed the money. Let be frank here, its a odd deal! In any case if there are serious talks going on we will never hear about it until its almost ready to be signed.

Disney just dropped 4 Billion for Lucas and Star Wars, if they tied Universal in as well......that would be a incredible.

It would be interesting if it happened, a monorail between the WDW and Uni......

But o they have a 22 foot Dragon taking a swipe at you?

He did, for like two weeks after the ride opened. Then he quit moving and they tried strobe lights, but since it was an outdoor coaster that seemed kind of dumb, so they eventually just settled for some audio..you hear "The Dragon is taking a SWIPE at you!" as you whiz by.

It's winning by a margin and may lose in the end. But no matter. If you ask Disney fans whether Disney or something else is better, you will always get a much higher number of pro-Disney votes than if you asked elsewhere. That's just common sense.

Plenty of people who haven't even been to Uni will be voting here, lol. While they can answer the question of where they'd rather go, they cannot answer the question of which park is better. They don't know.

The only theme park I've ever been to is Holiday World, right here in Santa Claus, Indiana, and that doesn't keep me from voting in these polls.

Uni is not like Cedar Point. I like Cedar Point, don't get me wrong! It is a step up from most amusement parks in both rides and cleanliness.

But Uni s nothing like CP.

You should really visit both parks before attempting to determine which is better. You will be dazzled by the theming at Uni, too. :)

Actually, I think Cedar Point is kind of its own thing. You like coasters, there ain't nothing better. For a day of quality coaster riding, different types of coasters, different thrill levels, etc. there isn't a better place in North America. Or so I've read, seeing as how I've only been to Holiday World.

Yep, good thing there's nothing lame at DHS!

...except the long-overstayed-their-welcome Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast shows.

I don't know why they can't update/upgrade BaTB and Indy especially. I really think if they updated Indy and closed LMA and for few more Pixar thingies to round out Pixar place, the whole park would be MUCH better received. How many people here have seen Indy 10 times? 20 times? More times than they can count? VotLM doesn't bother me as much for some reason. I think the indoor theatre, etc. just appeals to me more. Another small thing that would be awesome for DHS would be having Beaker/Honeydew and Electric Mayhem in the Muppet courtyard. It would also be a wise investment to figure out what has to be done to get Luxo dancing again. I'm sure there is a way. One of the magical things about Disney was this feeling that you could just walk around and run into really cool stuff. They've kind of lost that.

If their social media concept is to flame forums with adverse opinions about Universal Parks, then they really have a bad plan.

As a side note, something I found interesting when I was booking my trip to Disneyland California...they actually have a section where they encourage you to visit other area venues.

I sortof found this refreshing, as I could make Disney my "home base" while I visited other places.

WDW, on the other hand, seems to want to keep it all to themselves...
The Southern California CityPass is a great deal. It's like getting a day at Universal Studios Hollywood and SeaWorld San Diego for free.

Why so rude? Tonka's entitled to his opinion, and he is nothing but polite.
I don't care if somebody has a different position. What I do care about is when somebody then gives an explanation that is simply not true.

For roller coaster lineups, I would say Six Flags Magic Mountain has Cedar Point beat in terms of both quality and quantity. Several of Cedar Point's coasters are bad or mediocre, like Mean Streak, Mantis, Corkscrew, Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, and Mantis. HOWEVER, for atmosphere, I, personally, have yet to see a park that tops Cedar Point in terms of liveliness, excitement, and unique setting - being on it's own peninsula alone makes it one of the most unique amusement parks. I see Cedar Point as the best possible version of of the big time, corporate chain-owned amusement park. It has it's own kind of "magic" that you won't find at any Six Flags... or even other Cedar Fair parks.

I wore my Mickey sweatshirt to Cedar Point and got razzed a little by a staff member. "Get that rat out of our park!! What's wrong with you?! Okay, at least turn it inside out!" He was joking. It was cute. He went on to say how much he likes Disney. :). And he gave me freebie tickets for a quick ride on my favorite coaster. :)

Sorry, but I have to go with Universal Studios on this one. Seems like more to do, shorter lines, etc. If a perfect world I would do both, but if I had only one day, it's Universal.

As of today I would still have to give a slight edge to DHS, but once Transformers and HP 2.0 opens it is not even a contest which I would rather spend a day in. Oh and I love the Simpsons so it really is no contest.

I prefer DHS over USO, BUT, I would rather do IOA than either. USO I think is just as random as DHS but DHS has better quality attractions. At USO I really only like E.T., the Mummy and probably soon to be transformers. I personally think Twister is so lame....seriously, A cow on strings. And MIB my gun never works. I like TOT, RCNRC, ST, TSM, GMR, INDY, Muppet more.
