Worst places to propose at WDW

At the start of Ellen's Energy Adventure - If she says no, you are still stuck on there with her for 20 minutes.

Okay, this made me laugh out loud.

I'd say anything involving "it's a small world" or Pooh's Playful Spot....in the afternoon...with all those kids...

Personally I would have prefered Dave's suggestion of "Hey honey come look at this" (what can i say i am a modern girl) lol but my husband proposed to me on main street during wishes. I was shocked because I didn't have a CLUE that we were getting engaged. Many people may have done it but my memory of it is original and unique. What made it unique is that I was standing in front of him with his arms around me then he screamed in my ear "DO U KNOW WHAT MY WISH IS" so I turned to him and said "MY WISH IS FOR U TO STOP SCREAMING IN MY EAR!. I turned back around and he had the box open with the ring in my face...then he said (in a lower voice lol) my wish is for u to marry me. Loved it! Alas my vote for worst proposal at WDW would be while in line for a bus behind 30 people!

I'm reading these replies and some of them I'm thinking "That would actually be kind of awesome."

Proposing at WDW is cliche in itself. In front of the castle just adds to the cliche.

Though the worst proposal was actually a proposal I saw. A friend and I were dining at CRT, and there were two couples. One couple the guy had actually bought the package with the photos and the champagne and everything. They went first and it was all great. About five minutes later the guy from the table next to theirs proposes to his girl, but without the frills. Now, if that were me, I'd be ed. Not that I care about the frills or anything, but I was overshadowed by this other couple five minutes earlier. That guy deserved a smack upside the head.

That's some "interesting" logic, but it really just sounds to me like a justification for proposing in an unoriginal manner.

I'd agree with in front of the Castle as a bad pick. CRT is probably #2 for bad picks. If you want the Castle nearby, maybe go for the Wishing Well?

Hmm, you think so? I've always dreamed of proposing at the Royal Table, after witnessing a really beautiful proposal after dinner late one night when the restaurant was nearly empty. The couple had a window seat, and a man dressed as a royal assistant brought out a glass slipper with the ring inside, and the girl burst into tears. Plus I always thought there was something really appealing about proposing not in front of one of the magical and nostalgic icons in the world, but inside it.

Right after the skunk-smell spray on JII would be pretty bad.

That would be awful. :ROFLOL:

I think two things here.

1. Poor guy, imagine how his heart sunk when the first guy proposed...

2. What an idiot for not aborting the plan. The phrase from Return of the Jedi pops into my head "Pull back the shields are still active!" He should have just pulled back, regrouped and done it another night.

Never mind, carry on....

Yeah but I was not the instigator this time. I was an innocent victim. Like they say on the news "oh my baby was getting his life back together too"

With all these places being named if a place is special, or something in the parks is someone fav icon then it is not stupid or the worst place by any means. I am lucky enough to have a "ryde of die biiiatch" that is not all prissy and particular about everything and nothing. We both love WDW so I win there, we both love The Haunted Mansion so I win there as well...why not do it there? If our fav thing in Disney World was Betty Whites head in DHS I would have done it there. You really never know what holds value to people. I do know one thing...she would have been salty had I asked at The Castle because that holds zero uniqueness, and no form of creativity unless Tinker Bell herself flies down with the ring. What I did at The Haunted Mansion was done only once before by a "famous" person I knew nothing about at the time. He did his in DL. When I told the crew at HM what I wanted to do they could not believe it and were blown away at what I came up with and they were ALL lined up after to tell us how cool it was and they NEVER break character. So yeah I agree what a horrible and stupid idea to do it there.

LOL to Betty White's head!

Your HM proposal story was pretty epic, second only to something I saw on ToT. While exiting the ride and seeing the onboard pics, one picture showed the back row of the elevator holding up "WILL YOU MARRY ME" signs for the girl in the front row. We waited for the party to exit to see their reaction but never saw anything. To this day, not sure if it was real or not, but it was still a cool idea.

Mine was in fact in front of the castle during Wishes, but to me it was special and literally something I would talk about as a little girl. So, to each their own. I wouldn't have wanted mine any other way.

Wow I like that Tower Story...That is pretty awesome.

And like I said if its something significant to you then great! Had you been asked somewhere else other than what you talked about since you were little would probably been a little disappointing to you. But to do it there just to do it there to me is kind of unplanned if you will?

I saw your proposal video clip, and I don't think that your fiancee could have been more happy or excited. As you have stated in your own words, the uniqueness of every experience in life is made precious by those enjoying the moments in time.
