Worst Disney Merchandise??

What is the worst Disney merchandise that you have bought? We bought three of the little blue fan water bottles at Animal Kingdom one day. Two had to be replaced the same day and the other one the next day. The battery's kept falling out b/c of the poor design. I spent almost 20.00 each for these too. :hammer:They were all broken by the end of the trip but we didn't return them.

Over all, we have been pleased with everything that we have ever bought. Is there anything that you would NEVER buy again?

I don't have any buys that I can think of off the top of my head because I always try and think my purchases through. (I'm the opposite of an impulsive buyer) The worst thing I bought was those charms. It was a while ago, but I spent quite a lot more money than I should of for something I wore only a few times!

I bought a cute little Mickey Mouse purse for my daughter one year and the strap broke off the first night she had it. I purchased it at a store in the Animal Kingdom so later that night I exchanged it at one of the stores on Main Street and it lasted the rest of the trip, then it broke again after we got home

pins ... I've spent lots of $$$$ on pins - help me stop :ROFLOL:

Otherwise, I can't bring myself to buy anymore "refillable mugs"

I never purchased those, because they were 1. too expensive 2. too big 3. annoying to anyone else close by who you might accidently spray.

I've found that a small folding fan (the type that is round when opened, and folds up to the size of a magic marker) and a small, 2 oz atomizer type plastic bottle works just as well for a fraction of the cost, size, and weight. They fit into your pocket, purse, etc easily.

To answer your question, I will never again allow a child to purchase something that will not fit into a small backpack.

OR, anything fragile, such as a snowglobe!

Those Disney spray water fans are notorious for shattering at the slightest touch, or dispensing batteries everywhere. I would NEVER buy one, but other people have posted that they've bought similar (but smaller, way cheaper and far sturdier) versions of the same thing at discount stores.

I no longer buy pins, but the few that I've bought in the past have been splendid at taking up room in the bottom of my jewelry box. :ROFLOL:

PONCHOS! :fork:

1) If you are having to buy a Disney poncho, it's raining out. :(

2) On a rainy summer day, you are just as wet under the poncho (sweat) as you would be if you hadn't worn the darned thing in the first place.

:lol::lol::lol:

Some Disney-themed cat treats. They came in a can which looked like an old-time milk drum and had Figaro's picture on the front. My cats inhale treats by the bag, but they made gargoyle faces at these. After about a week, the treats developed a musty smell and fused into a solid lump. I tried using the container to hold other treats, as one of my cats finds the bags and chews holes in them, by it seemed to impart the musty funk to whatever the contents.

I don't remember where I got them.

Spray bottles with the fans!!! We have them at the Dollar Store in NY, and they seem to last for ever. Disney ones broke first night we got them.

The retro EPCOT Center t-shirts

The shirts aren't made the same way other WDW t-shirts are made (so if you're tall, you'll want to buy a size larger than you normally wear) and they only go up to XL in all but one design. Were they honestly not expecting these things to sell well? For all of the research that Disney does, you would think they would know a little more about their fanbase.

We must have been pretty lucky with the spray fan thing. DD bought one last year and it still works. It wasn't worth what she paid for it but you know how that goes.

We bought those for our cat in December '07 and they're still fresh. My cat will still eat them. Maybe you just bought one bad batch.

I TOTALLY agree...I was down in April, and went to Epcot specifically to pick up a retro Epcot shirt...found out that they run a size small (the vintage fit crapola) and are very short...needless to say, I was not a happy Panda.

Worst merch. in my opinion? Photo albums. Maybe I'm picky, I don't know. But I have a hard time paying 25 bucks for those cheap flimsy photo pages in a paper binding. This is not saying I haven't seen great WDW photo albums over the years, but especially recently, I'm constantly disappointed.

I still bought one, that says The 21st Century Began on October 1, 1982 vertically, and I can wear it, but it isn't as comfortable as any other Disney shirt I have. With these shirt designs, they should go up to XXXL. The way they are cut, they probably won't be too wide for most people, but they would certainly be longer for us tall folks. I hate that they really dropped the ball on this one.
