Worst Attraction at WDW

I'm thinking about the ride that was once El Rio del Tiempo. The advent of screens... Sigh.

I'm wondering... who narrated El Rio del Tiempo?

Is learning boring? Is taking a gander at the food that you will soon be putting into your belly at the Garden Grill or Sunshine Seasons boring? I think not!

Fun story, my sister, despite her assertions that she's been to WDW over 20 times (and she complains that mom & I went without her in 2013; for the record, by my count I've been only 7 or 8 times, so do the math), she never went on that until our trip in 2012*. She was unimpressed. Later, when having lunch at Sunshine Seasons, I commented, "Taste that freshness? THAT is why that boat ride is awesome." She gave me a death glare.

*She also never did the Indy Stunt Show. What in the blue blazes is wrong with her?!?

I have ridden Living With the Land precisely two times.

Once in 1988 during my first visit to Epcot. As a piece of the puzzle that was the old Epcot, Living With the Land made a big impression on me.

I didn't go back to Disney World until 2003. And when I did, it was with family that couldn't care less about old Epcot. So I had not revisited it again until...

Just about a week ago. It was a strange experience. I was turned loose on Epcot by myself. With no kids in tow for a couple of hours, I revisited what remains of the old Epcot. Living With the Land is one of the few attractions that is relatively the same as what I remembered (although they now have an automated spiel).

If it weren't for nostalgia, I'm not sure how I would feel about Living With the Land. It fit in perfectly with the mission of old Epcot. But in today's Epcot, it feels out of place. I can't imagine what new riders think of it. I suspect for most of them, it is something to do while waiting to ride Soarin'.

Stitch entire waste of space and fastpass machines(well I was last there before the plussing) Speedway always needed more theming and visual appeal....new cars would be awesome too, as a kid "driving" a car at a theme park was awesome, not sure if I cared about theming per se then....but as an adult? I like to ride the cars but want the theming overlay to be awesome especially at WDW. I am so glad for the new 7 Dwarves coaster....I wish all of MK would remain classic Disney....imagineering can do it with some imagination....and $$$$. :)

your more than welcome! sometimes i swear its just me that hates it, both on here and in MK.

It feels like it sometimes, eh? My wife wants to go on It's a Small World our next trip since I outright refused to go again last trip, so I will just have to bring a pair of earplugs to wear... maybe take a nap...

Living with the Land it outstanding. I think it's timeless and one of the few attractions that needs no updating...just maintenance. I think it has a great message and fits in with what EPCOT should be. No movie theme, characters, or cheap tie in to something. It's just a nice, relaxing ride that teaches you about the land and how to use it.

I love the Country Bear Jamboree. The funny thing is that I see it poking fun at Ozark mountain folk, not Southerners. Sometimes I think people get offended a bit too easily.
There aren't many attractions that I don't like at WDW, but I could live without Capt. EO. It's not that I don't appreciate the nostalgia, but it's just too weird.

Absolutely agree. I love this ride and enjoy it numerous times on our trips!

I love the country bears too...just as it is today. The audio still needs some work but it's better now.

I'm not a huge fan of Captain EO either, but the audio system in that thing is unbelievable.

The WORST, I think, are:

Speedway (beating a dead horse)
Mission Space (was beyond over hyped and extremely disappointing)
Capt EO (just...why)
Peter Pan (it's so busted and old...)
Pooh (just...why)
*These are the rides that, if my kids ask to go on them, I actually, audibly groan.

The ones I think aren't worth the wait and don't make me cry to not do:

Soarin (not worth the wait. Overhyped. One exp I don't feel I need to repeat. Unfortunately, for me, my kids like it. I should move this to the groan list lol)
Nemo (under impressed. I feel so much more could have been done)
Brainstormer (I'm too old for this)
Buzz Lightyear (MK) (rendered obsolete by TSMM, IMO. Same concept done much better)
Pirates (Again, with what the movie franchise turned into, they could have done so much! Nothing flows here, except the water. Everything looks old and I HATE the constant traffic jam at the end. I'm also irritated that, on our last trip, CMs said my son's powerchair wasn't allowed in the building AT ALL. We had to leave a $25k wheelchair outside! WTH)

Shows/other attractions that I think can go or are the worst:
Swiss Family (just...whaaa...)
BatB (used to be good. Has slowly died these past few years)
The Land (float through greenhouse)
American Adventure (finally did it this weekend. CMs were very rude. The show was long and, honestly, boring. The effects were cool and all but it was just a lifeless recap of history class)
Nemo stage show (I had never been so happy to have a crying baby)

I am almost crying to read you didn't like American Adventure. How much cast member is even involved? There is a guy there that is really awesome. He tells you the story of the flags. Cheesy, but nice guy.

And Pirates? I mean, the last little traffic jam isn't ideal, but I'm just happy to stay on a bit longer. If anything, I wish they'd phase out the movie tie in...much better just classic pirates.

I've never seen a bad attraction at WDW, but I've learned that It's a Small World is almost unbearable in a certain frame of mind (i.e. waiting to get off but stalled in boat traffic at the end of the ride and having to listen to that song over and over and over again). Also, I'll say this: Jungle Cruise is completely pointless now, with Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom being the same thing with real animals.
