How is this project progressing? Just curious because we will be at WDW next week.
I don't have pictures but the flyover heading north on world drive is nearing completion. Just need to finish the on ramp, connect the off ramp, and finish the concrete walls. Also still waiting for the final beams to complete the southbound flyover before they can continue on that part.

We were just there last week. We would be surprised if anything changes by the time you are there. Nothing appeared paved. Maybe we are discussing different areas, but by Magical Express, Park Buses, and Epcot Monorail, lots of dirt roadways were visible. Major cluster for traffic. Just by MK Parking gateway was unbelievably tortuous re-directs. When it is finally finished, it looks like it will improve stuff, but getting there is currently very weird.

The quickest part of that process is the paving. If the road bed is compacted to specs, all it requires is a couple of days to pave it. I don't have a clue as to what other odds and ends are still to be done, but, if it is just down to the roads aren't paved yet, that can happen quickly.

Anyone have any information in regards to the two billboards that were removed? Even though the attractions were dated I always thought they were a great compliment to the Tower or Terror sign on World Drive. I would love to see Disney do more of these on property with different effects. Also, anyone know who pushed to have these signs created in the first place? I’m assuming they were from the Eisner era? @marni1971

This is sad. In general I love these creative billboards. Hopefully there will be new ones with the new big exciting attractions some day. It really makes the property feel that much better. I mean, other than chick fil a, these days, no one does fun billboards like these

Based on what I saw this past week it will probably be 6 months or more. Some concrete still being poured and big piles of dirt in some of what will be the new roads. Didn't have an opportunity to make any photos.

I dont remember in what thread it was but if I remember correctly someone found the permit or work order or whatever was filed in regards to the billboards. It called for their removal and demolition. Specifically that they be removed in a way that would make them unreconizable ans uh n useable. So they where trashed big time.

I loved these things bit of Disney magic as you found your way around property, shame they did not add more/continue to swap them out for new attractions.

Wish I could answer your question as to who's idea they where in the first place or why they stopped.

"The Contractor shall remove, demolish and dispose of the Bugs Life
billboard/sign and the Mission Space billboard/sign. The graphics and
attachments on both billboards/sign shall be required to be demolished
beyond recognition as being Disney-related, prior to being disposed of
offsite.
