working out for Disney

Just finished my workout. I biked for close to 10.5 miles. My legs were really fatigued because yesterday's workout happened in the early evening...so not a ton of recovery. I think my distance was about the same last night, but yesterday was a leg day with squats, plies and lifts...so naturally things will be more tired today. Today was an arm day and more oblique twists. I wound up not working out on Thursday and just taking a break. I worked late on Thursday because I was leaving early on Friday and had a TON to get done. Right after finishing up work on Thursday, we headed over to the middle school for band concert #2 of the week. By the time we got home and dinner was done, it was nearly 10pm. Today and tomorrow are softball days.

Sometimes a day off is in order. I took Wednesday off because the weather was terrible. Hail, rain, strong winds....so I stayed home. I've gotten my steps in every day except that, though.

I FINALLY got my letter to schedule the first shot of the vaccine, so I get my shot Friday!!

My right arm is sore. I spent half my shift last night putting bulk away. Anything that we already have in the shelves has to go into bulk, which is up above the regular shelving. I can just reach it if I stand on my tiptoes and reach as far as I can, but of course I'm putting trays of clothes up there, and if you get a couple stacked up with a bunch of jeans, they can be kind of heavy. So I feel it today. I also donated all the kids' old clothes today, so I have gotten a lot of lifting in.

Apparently you can do it when running or using an elliptical (probably what happened in my case). Mom thinks it's probably also because of my falling arches; she has them and has done it before. My podiatrist told me I need insoles (like Dr. Sholes). I haven't done it yet, but I probably should.
In my loud mom voice. Yet your rear to the store young lady and get some insoles NOW!!!!!!!! I hope you're all healed up soon

I hope your vaccine shot goes well. Do you know which brand you'll be getting?

Nope, just that it will be either pfizer or moderna. They aren't doing Astra Zeneca for anyone under 60 here and they aren't doing Johnson and Johnson at all. So I know it will be one of the 2 with no restrictions, but won't know until I get there which one. I'm ok with either.....they have the highest rate of effectiveness anyway, so I'm glad it will be one of those. I would have taken AZ if they offered, just so I could have SOME protection....that was the one I was supposed to get originally before they pulled it for those under 60. But since I have to wait so long anyway, at least I get one of the better ones.

My inlaws FINALLY got theirs this past week. Both are in their 70s and just now got their turn a week before we get ours. I'm glad I don't live in Arnhem!! If they are so far behind there, who knows when I'd get the first shot!

It's cold and wet outside so I scheduled myself several practices, the 2 Bird has for today, an older yoga works one and some very short Shiva Rae ones. I may as well take advantage of the carpy weather and get a couple of days worth of cooking done. I was hoping to have left overs from the 2 very large pizzas made yesterday(one cauliflower crust and one regular gf one) I may as well accept leftovers are never going to be a thing in my house:banghead:

Oh, I agree...it wasn't my planned day off, but I'm trying to reprogram my brain to handle it and regroup...vs. just going into a slump...when schedules interfere with things.

So glad you're going for your first shot!

Happy Monday! We had to be at softball early on Mother's Day and we were all so exhausted when we got home that I took a short nap, woke up to go out for a Mother's Day meal, and then took another "nap" for 4 hours. As crazy as that sounds, my younger one (who was playing ball this weekend) fell asleep midday and kept sleeping until it was time to wake up for school this morning. I checked on her a few times and she was so exhausted that she thought it was the middle of the night and I was up at a ridiculous hour.

I did manage to get in a workout last night, but I was still so tired that I decided to make it more casual. I got on the bike for a comfortable pace and just casually biked for 45 minutes...which added up to nearly 12 miles. After that, I did some barre style work on my legs and weighted oblique twists. It'll probably be an evening workout tonight since I need to grocery shop during lunch and then need to take the kids swimsuit shopping. Fun.

Good morning,

Still healing, but staying off of the leg. It's much better today. I went downstairs with less pain than I had yesterday and Saturday. I ordered insoles for runners, so we shall see how those work. They're supposed to have good arch support since my arches are falling. I told Mom it's not fair, I got my Dad's feet, but her bad ankles and falling arches.

Unfortunately, not being able to workout gave me a doozy of a migraine yesterday. It meant I stayed off of the leg because I wanted to sleep, but still no fun. And now it looks like a tornado came through my room, as it always does whenever I have a migraine for some reason.

Well that's not necessarily true. You don't think either of the boys will ever leave the nest? And then you will have so many leftovers you won't have room in the fridge for them!

It is hard to regroup sometimes. I rode my bike to the hospital to get my blood drawn yesterday morning, then I walked to the shopping district (about 1.5 miles from my house) to pick up a couple of things I've been needing, now that they are open again without appointments, and when I got back, I went to the grocery store. I'm not sure why, but by the time I got home from the grocery store and had my 10,000 steps in, I felt like I was about ready to pass out. I know I wasn't dehydrated because I had already had 2 bottles of water plus what I drank with breakfast and lunch, but I had to take a rest before I could start dinner. I've been walking around 5 miles per day for the last few weeks now and never had a problem until yesterday. At least I got my steps in before my body protested, but I'm glad I didn't have to work last night.

I wound up taking a break day yesterday. Part of it was just exhaustion from the moment I woke up and part was having to take the girls shopping for new swimsuits. The shopping really wasn't all too horrible, but it had enough rip your hair out moments to make me just want to sit down and relax. At least both of them went home with new swimwear and they were running some in-store sales that weren't available online. I wound up working out during lunch today. Nothing crazy...about 9.70 miles of biking, shoulders/triceps, back, and oblique twists. I guess if I feel energetic, I can do more later.
