Thanks for sharing those great photos! What a lovely place Hilton Head is. (That's another one to add to the bucket list. ;) ) It's fun to have a place where there are plenty of safer areas to bike (in that they're protected from a lot of vehicle traffic). That must have been a blast riding around down there.

Your wife's shorter hairdo looks pretty on her. Probably wouldn't matter what hair style she chose, because she's one of those lucky people who is always photogenic.

I liked the colors and design of that diningroom you photographed. (It's not so much that I'm a fan of the Margaritaville style, but I do like the color/design choices in that room--very attractive.)

Thanks for the kind words. We really like the bicycle paths at HHI. There are many that meander alongside golf courses with lovely homes in the background, some paths that are just wilderness on both sides and there are some alongside busy highways too.
Now, if you swerve off a bicycle path onto a golf cart path, you will get yelled at but don't ask me how I know that.
Here are a couple more photos of the kitchen/dining area in that particular house. It is lovely, bright and airy. As you can see, lots of Margaritaville theming going on in this one. Of course, the margaritas and cheeseburgers in paradise are plastic in the display homes, but still conveys the theme pretty well.

Also went to a place called Latitude Margaritaville and toured several model homes there. It is a retirement type community with a Jimmy Buffet, Margaritaville theme, though some of the home decorations were a bit over the top.

A retirement community for Parrotheads! I have seen it all! :hilarious:

I like the colors, too. The parrots are a bit much, though. The chairs with coral on it are cute.

Looks like you and your wife had a lovely time. :)

Here is a rendering of the currently under construction community pool. You can do a google search for Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head Island and see much more. (There is another Latitude Margaritaville location at Daytona Beach.)

Hello-

No court today! :D

I think I am taking a break from yoga today. I have been doing yoga in my bedroom when I get up, since my husband is gone and I don't have to worry about waking him up. My room has pergo floors and I usually do yoga downstairs on carpet. Even though I use a cushy mat, I can feel the difference. My left wrist is a bit sore from so many planks, vinyasas, inversions on the floor. I'll probably do something with my kettle bell a bit later.

Also, I don't have to back to court until Tuesday and the judge said the trial will mostly likely wrap up before lunch. I guess we deliberate after that. I've got feelings and opinions on this trial and I can't talk about it with anyone--not even other jurors! :p

I have only done jury duty once, and wound up on the grand jury instead of regular trial jury. It was interesting but in our small community I am surprised neither my wife or myself have been called for trial duty. Just lucky I guess. Glad yours is gonna wrap up soon. I think I would hate being in a long, drawn-out trial.

The like is for no court today. But it sucks that you can't talk to anyone....will you be allowed to when it's over?

This home had a much more elegant, less margarita theme using similar colors. I really like this one.

This one is nicer, in my opinion. The other one felt really beachy....with the grey wash wood floors, etc. This one is a bit more formal, I guess. But I'm not a fan of white furniture/walls/cupboards, so it's definitely not how I would decorate my house, but I'm sure a lot of people would love it. I prefer warm colors, but if I had to choose between the first one and this one, I'd choose this one.

Yeah, we liked it better too. This one seemed more elegant.

So while we were in Hawaii a few weeks ago one thing we tried was local food. One of the more interesting was something called Loco Moco and it was served just about everywhere.
I made my own version tonight. It is basically white rice, a teriyaki burger and brown gravy topped with fried eggs. Gotta say, mine was very good. It may be that I put extra teriyaki sauce in the gravy. Anyway, not something I would make often, but it made for something different to try.

Looks so good! I really liked loco mocos when I was in Hawaii too. Kona Cafe at the Polynesian in WDW has a good version for breakfast. Although when I asked the waitress for some soy sauce with it she was a little taken aback. I guess that isn't something they hear often at breakfast.

I also tried Spam musubi but did not like it as well as Loco Moco.
Favorite of all the stuff we tried in Hawaii was shave ice....so good, especially with macadamia nut ice cream in the bottom and a condensed milk topping over the flavored ice.
Also extra good was fresh pineapple right out of the field. It was so sweet and juicy with a different texture than pineapple here. Good stuff.
