Good morning! I am so tired. We finished the flooring and new toilet in the bathroom! Finally! We worked on it Sat and Sunday. It looks amazing. I just need to paint the beadboard and mouldings. I am hoping to get that finished this week. I will put up some pictures when itā€™s finished. šŸ˜

House projects can be exhausting, physical work. I say you both go out tonight for ice cream sundaes!

Good morning-

I am in with an hour of yoga. I don't have to be in court until 10:15. I got a phone call yesterday afternoon from the judge's secretary. I was hoping both parties had settled over the weekend, but no. She just told me I didn't have to be in until 10:15. I am hoping this wraps up today. Neither party have really good expert witnesses and we are watching their testimonies on video. We are not permitted to take notes, so I am trying very hard to remember which witness said what.

The upside from this is I am sleeping better. My husband went back to Minneapolis yesterday morning and I usually sleep poorly when he's away. But when I am in court all day, I sleep better that night. I think it's because I am spending the day listening and focusing intently. I'm kind of tired when I get home. LOL

It sounds rough....I've never served on a jury before, but I've never understood why they don't let you take notes. Maybe when you are in deliberation and you are discussing the case, other people will remember the things you don't? I'm sure it's exhausting, mentally. No wonder you're tired! Long days, stress, etc...

I hope it wraps up for you!!

Short answer is a transcript (word for word) readback is far more accurate than notes which can be mistaken or interpreted differently. Judges in general also want your full focus on thee trial not in a notebook

Sympathy like. It's frigid here, and of course DS went out the door this morning with his hoodie because that's all he's needed up to now. So we got about 50 feet from the school when he started crying. His hood wouldn't stay up. I looked, and they sewed the ties in place so you can't tighten the hood. So he was FREEZING. I had to take off my hoodie and give it to him and I just had my light-weight jacket. So it was COLD going home, but at least DS was toasty warm and not crying. I had him try on his winter jacket when he got home and it's way too small. He's grown SO MUCH in the last 6 months. So, fortunately we have a parenting class all day tomorrow, so we're taking him to school and picking him up by car, and we'll be done at 3:30 so we can go straight to the shopping center and get him a new coat.
Sympathy like and I hope you got a good deal

Headed to Pensacola tomorrow for the annual Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show on Friday and Saturday. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow, and we hate driving in the rain, so the plan is to leave really early and maybe beat the rain. Would rather be in Pensacola in the rain than driving there in the rain.

Hello-

I did an hour of yoga early this morning. I didn't have to be at court until 10:15--yes, the trial is still going on! Yesterday, one of the lawyers decided to be a donkey while questioning a witness. This ate up a lot of time. This lawyer's behavior was very juvenile. Do lawyers think belittling a witness looks good? So, we didn't wrap up yesterday. We started court at 11 today, went to lunch at noon, came back from lunch at 1:30 and waited for the judge to summon us to the court room. Instead, he sent us home. So, we didn't wrap up today, either.:mad::mad: I have to go back in again tomorrow at 10:15. These late starts are what's killing us. I am hoping we wrap everything up before lunch and deliberate after lunch.

I put my little costume on when I got home though. I painted an egg on a t-shirt and I wear it with devil horns. ;) We have had no trick or treaters so far. I am bringing this candy into court with me tomorrow--I don't want it all hanging around. LOL

There is a lot of unfamiliar, medical terminology I am trying to keep that straight. Because one "expert witness" claims one thing and another claims another thing. I am trying to remember who said what! o_O

I love the Blue Angels and also the Air Force's Thunderbirds. Seen the Thunderbirds in my state 3 times, and the Blue Angels once. All those teams are just amazing. ENJOY!!

Hello-

I did 30 minutes of yoga when I got up this AM. So, we wrapped it all up today. I was relived when we went into deliberation, because I was worried people wouldn't have the conclusion as I did. At times throughout the trial, I felt like we did. I think it was because we were all joking around about how badly we wanted to be able to discuss the case, but you never know until deliberation. It turns out we all felt the same way. Our decision was unanimous and we all had the same issues with one party's case. I feel it was the correct one and I feel like justice was served.

I met some nice people and I exchanged phone numbers with a few of the jurors. Our jury attendant commented on how well we all got along. We went to lunch together and chatted with each other during our breaks. She said a lot of jurors don't get along. The only negative for me was the cost of getting to and fro, otherwise, it was a positive experience. The people who worked at the courthouse were so much nicer than I expected them to be. That being said, I am in no rush to do it again. :)

Glad it's over for you. You were so lucky to have a cohesive jury pool. More often than not, it's not that way. Hated being a juror once--never want to go through that again (and it was a short trial).

Oh I'm so glad it wrapped up, and that you all agreed! That's so nice! It must have been a pretty quick deliberation! And are you free to talk about it now if you need to relieve that stress? Like...can you tell your husband about it, or a friend, etc? Or is it still confidential?
