Good morning! Friday is finally here. Yesterday, I spent most of the day pulling weeds and enjoying the sun. We hit 80. Today we are supposed to hit a new record. And I know we will eventually pay for this nice weather but we are certainly enjoying it now!!
Tomorrow we are going to a nice zoo in SC. We are getting rain here but at the zoo sunny and 82. I love walking at the zoo. The koalas are my favorite. Have a great weekend!

I loved the warmer weather of the past two days, but dang, it brings out all the creepy-crawlies.

I found two stink bugs in my bedroom and gave them a water burial without squishing them (so they won't "spray"). Then there was a third that came out at bed time and my husband stayed up past midnight trying to catch it. We have a tray ceiling with lights over the bed and it flew into the recessed part where the light was. So, my husband got a chair and a mirror to try to locate the bug. Then he stood on the bed. At one point, he thought he caught it, but when he went to flush it, there was nothing in the container. :hilarious: He gave up and I had a hard time falling asleep knowing this stench-causing creature was above my bed. I had one crawl up my leg in the middle of the night once and I didn't know what it was. I grabbed it and tried to throw it, but it sprayed my hand with stinkiness. 🤢 My hand burned afterwards, too, even though I washed it throughly straight away.
I would love to have lady bugs over stink bugs. Stink bugs fly around like they've had too much to drink and they buzz so loudly, too. I keep finding their carcasses on and around my bed. Gross.:depressed:
Oh goodness I know! We’ll be watching tv and hear the buzzing and DH will go ‘well where is it!’ Lol They like to hit the walls around the lamp.

I hate those things and we have plenty of them. Last night while watching the Olympics, I had my Yeti tumbler sitting beside my recliner and I reached over for a sip and as I was about to put it to my lips, I noticed something. Stupid stinkbug sitting right on the lid. I slowly got up and grabbed a piece of aluminum foil and caught it, wrapped it up and threw it away. Catching them with foil helps with the stink, and I just lightly wrap them instead of squishing, because a squished one stinks 100 times worse.
Anyway, poured out my drink, washed the Yeti and started over.
We have a fan and light fixture right over the bar/counter where we usually eat and they like to fly around it, bouncing off and zooming around several times before they land. Then I catch 'em in foil. One time one of the stupid things bounced of the light and darted right onto my plate. I was a little miffed at that one, don't remember what it landed in, but it had to be tossed. If it had been ribs, I would have been really mad.

So update on my washer repair - brought it back in the laundry room last night, hooked it back up and while watching the skating and battling stink bugs, we did two full loads to test out my efforts, and it works great! And no leaks either. Goes through the cycle just fine, spins out the water and no longer leaves the clothes dripping and most importantly, my wife is happy. She did not want to buy a new one and thanks to her encouragement, we saved several hundred dollars.
It is satisfying doing it myself and saving some money. Now, since I don't know exactly what was the culprit, and went ahead and replaced several parts while I had it apart, I probably did not save as much as I could have, but that's fine with me. Kinda like changing a water pump...no reason to not change the belts and hoses while you are at it.

Are you going to Riverbanks Zoo? It is a very good place to visit. We haven't been over there in a few years, may have to go back soon.

Nice. It's always a satisfying feeling to repair something like that, saving money is an even better feeling!

I have been getting a tupperware container, covering them and then slide some card stock underneath. They like to hang out on curtains, so that's not always a good method. I'll try the foil. Like you said, the goal is not to squish them. That is so gross about the one that landed in your food. 🤮

I used to love koalas when I was kid. I remember them from the old Quantas commercials and I thought they were the cutest things. Then I read they are actually rather nasty animals.

Happy Friday!

I took a day off from working out. I woke up in the middle of the night with pain in my right eye. I tried to kind of "ignore" it, but I broke down and took some advil. I slept well after that, but I am a bit tired today. I'll get back on the horse tomorrow. :)
