working out for Disney

Hello-

Today was warm enough to go for a long walk. It was sunny, too. I was going to workout with my kettlebell, but I am just not feeling it. I don't know why, but I don't like working out when my husband is home. LOL I don't know if I mentioned this, but my grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a few months ago. Before she was diagnosed, she had been googling symptoms and she told me she thought she had it. At the time, I thought she is just getting older, but no. Anyway, she fell this week. What is frustrating for me is when I lived in Illinois, my grandmother lived only a few blocks from me. I used to stop at her house to check in on her when I would go for walks. Well, I am 800 miles away and she could really use the help. If I lived back home, I could help her out with her daily activities, take her to her appointments. I am thinking of staying with her for a bit. It's just not a long term solution, but maybe I can and work on that while I am there.

Good luck maybe you can set up some type of visiting nurse for her. One of my moms has a woman who comes in once a week to clean her apartment that she got through the state's senior agency hopefully you can set something like that up through her's

Wow. I am getting caught up here. I hope you're feeling better. Did you have the flu or was it just an upper respiratory thing?
THNX everybody around here seems to have caught that 3 week bug including my dh. Last week I was mostly very tired and sneezed all the time so who knows. At the first sign I started taking lemon, garlic and honey and I'm thinking it may have cut down on some of the symptoms

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. We're thinking my FIL has Parkinson's. He's sooooo shaky and unsteady now. Does your grandma have any other family that lives closer?

Ironically, when I was in social work school, my first year internship was working as a case manager in a state senior agency. My grandmother sleep walks and luckily, has been in reach of her cell phone to call me. I would have to send my husband over, because she wouldn't be able to get herself up from the floor. I wasn't strong enough to lift her alone. Anyway, I called our local agency on aging and made an appointment for her, so she could get one of those pendants where you can summon help (and any other services she might be eligible for). She cancelled the appointment!

I think the time has come for her to reconsider. It's not going to go away.
