Good morning! After a nice weekend, it’s Monday! lol We shopped some on Sat and ate lunch out. Yesterday, we had some things to do around the house then went for a drive. The weather was nice -low 60s. I just wish it could stay like that!
Got my walker by in. Today I need to do laundry and get some groceries. It is supposed to rain so may make a trip to walk at the mall. Dinner is hoisin chicken with noodles and a cucumber peanut salad.

I got out for my walk and things started going downhill quickly. For the first time in forever(cue Frozen) I'm sick. It's been so long I didn't even realize what was happening. For the time being exercise is on hold. I'm too dizzy to do yoga and too tired to do anything else safely. Tonight's lupper spicey baked tofu with onions, carrots, garlic and broccoli. ACHOO

Oh no!! Hope you feel better soon!! I hope it's not the bug that's been going around lately...that thing hangs on forever!!! Take some time to rest and make sure you get plenty of fluids!! Can you make some extras of the food and freeze it and send the boys out or have them make their own so you don't have to cook for a few days?

How's your sugar doing after the holidays?

Thank you for asking. It is the same ole broken record story with me. You think I would learn, but no! Sugar and weight both up quite a bit and it is simply my own fault.
I tend to get frustrated and very depressed then say to heck with it and just lose track of what I am supposed to be doing and what I am supposed to be eating. Dealing with depression is a constant struggle.
I spent the holidays basically just eating what I wanted with no real thought about the consequences. Sausage biscuits, hash browns, desserts too much fried stuff, chips etc...
I am back on course, grilling proteins without bbq sauce, eating much more salad and roasted veggies, a new medication has been added to the mix and I have to do more walking, which again is all my fault.
One of these days I am gonna either get the ever rising blood sugar under control, or completely give up, one or the other.

You're back on the right track so focus on all the yummy healthier foods and get out walking when you can. I know you can do it. One day at a time

You know I do the same thing sometimes with my bp. I either go overboard not eating any salt at all and then feel bad, or I just start eating what I want then get depressed if it goes up. I am battling that now too. I always wanted to not be on any kind of medications and then I got diagnosed with asthma/allergy and high bp last year. It is hard not to get down on yourself. Hang in there! It definitely helps to get on here and vent every once in awhile. The friends on here are very helpful and good listeners. ;)

My wife has blood pressure issues and takes a couple of meds for it. I know what you are going through. It can be quite frustrating. We cook without any salt and have to read labels closely for sodium and sugar content. It is shocking how much sodium is in bought food, especially frozen dinners and soups. Soups are just crazy high in sodium.
Yes, I know preparing fresh is much healthier and we control what actually goes into the meal, but often we get busy and it is just easy to open a can of soup or thrown something from the freezer into the oven.
Been trying to prep more stuff in advance and freeze it for easy access later, but don't always get that done.
Be careful and diligent with your BP. You can control it, it just takes effort. Wish I had some advice for the depressing part. That is my biggest struggle, just trying to stay positive and upbeat when I get mad at myself for not being stronger.

Feeling a smidge better. I'm going to look for some type of yoga to do for when one is sick, nap and eat something spicy. I've been taking garlic and lemon and am not having any cough or throat issues:joyfull:

You are always encouraging us to take care of ourselves. Now Figgy, you do the same! Hope you feel better soon. Don't know about the yoga part, but nap and eating something spicy both sound like good ideas.

^^^^ What he said. Take care of yourself and don't do too much. You won't do anyone any favors by pushing through and making yourself more sick.

I'm just popping in...only have a few minutes. I picked up DS from school, got him home, took a quick shower and then had to go get DD to get her to musical theater lessons, and then home, to the grocery store, and now I have 30 minutes before I have to bike back to get her and get home to cook dinner and eat before I go to work. Certainly getting my exercise today.

THNX guys It's killing me even though I can barely move to do nothing. What I'm looking for is something yin to distress. Honey, garlic, lemon and herbal tea for colds is keeping my throat and chest clear:joyfull: I'm trying to tell myself 1516810517653.png
