It is. It has been weeks with no rain. And no rain predicted anytime soon. Rain is what the firefighters are counting on to douse the fires.

We've had a drought up here in the Northeast (from MA up to the coastline of southern Maine). We're still down 10 inches of rain in MA for this time of year. At least we've been getting some rain here and there--it doesn't sound nearly as bad as what's going down in Georgia now. That's rough.

What's happening down there--brush fires?

Yes, as @Tuvalu said, lots of fires burning north of us and smoke from the fires is everywhere. It is nasty smelling outside and we are a ways from the fires. I can't even imagine what it is like for people closer to them.

Forest fires in the N GA mountains. We live about an hour away and the smoke is thick here. A friend sent this picture of a hawk outside her dad's house:

Hawks are black.

I think that is a red-tailed hawk or a Cooper's hawk. Good timing on the photo.

Good morning #SOS plyo and I made it through the whole thing because it was short but very sweaty. BTW burpees (insert string of bad words) Seeing it was short I'll do some Leslie Sansone(short workout) and do my tire guy imitation today. I'm running out of cooked food already so today I'll make a spicy veggie stew and some pea soup for dinner in my slow cookers, Blt salad for lunch and leftover quinoa and berries for breakfast.Nothing like planning your day in reverse For those near those nasty fires be very careful!

Oh no. I was looking forward to your post telling us you brought her home. I am typically a negative person who has the glass half empty look at life, though I hide it pretty well most of the time.
My first reaction when I read this was negative, then I realized it is a blessing instead. In my way of thinking, the little angel you were looking at gets a hopefully loving forever home. But there is another blessing. Somewhere out there is another, lonely dog, maybe in a shelter somewhere or in a temporary foster home who only wants to be loved and give love back. That little angel now has a chance to find his or her forever home too. So here I am seeing a silver lining in that cloud. Don't know what is wrong with me this morning.

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go. I went walking until the rain chased me in. Real rain not the drizzle we've been getting, wish I could share some with you.
