working out for Disney

I have no idea what is going on in this thread, and I know that I won't read thru it..

But I was hoping someone here would have some good advice.

I had surgery a few months ago and have completely slacked off on my workout routine. I've also put on 10lbs.

We leave for WDW on 11/25 and now I'm totally freaking out.

Game Plan- 21DF 2 a days. Pound water. Shakeology for breakfast. Protein snacks. Yogurt for lunch. Smart dinner. This alone will not take the 10lbs away in the next 11 days. Any other advice?

I think at this point the 10lbs is not a concern. Walk as much and as often as you can. Building up stamina is important. A good walking routine before a WDW trip makes a huge difference.

My dh could care less what the weather is if he has a scheduled bbq day. He once went out and BBQ'd in a blizzard and he had to shovel his way out to the smoker(several times) which he rolled out to an overhang. Not even 3 feet of snow stopped him:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

I have grilled in the snow before, but here we have never had three feet. I think at that snow depth, I might decide to stay in, unless the power was out, then I'm grilling regardless.

...besides the small concern of not fitting into most of my clothing. :(.

Thanks though..I'm definitely going to try to do as much as possible!

I remember seeing a meme last year I think, but, I don't remember if it was here or not. It showed a guy in, I think the Boston area, with a notch cut out of about 4 or more feet of snow using his grill. I think that caption was How do you want you hamburger cooked. The more I think of it it was one of those comparison meme's one side was labeled, "the South" with a picture that showed a light sprinkle of snow and lines of cars stop on the highway, with a caption that asked for the guard to be sent out during this massive emergency. The other was labeled, "Meanwhile in Boston" which had the picture and caption I already described. I have been trying to find it, but, have not been successful. Maybe one of you remembers seeing it or at least knows were to find it.

My goodness how tight is your clothing that 10 lbs would mean it doesn't fit at all. I am still panicking because I put back on 20 lbs this year but, I'm still wearing the same clothes. They are a little more snug then they were last year, but, I gave away all my fat(ter) clothes to charity. I guess I'll need to go and buy some of it back.

Embarrassing tmi-

My clothes aren't tight, but they are fitted. I'm small boned and, well, not at all curvey. Because of that my pants have to fit perfectly or else they look stretched out and sloppy. When I gain weight I don't put it on everywhere. 98% of it goes straight to my midsection- which causes my pants/shorts to be too tight on my waist/hips, but if I go up a size then they are too big elsewhere.

My sweaters, tops, and tees are pretty fitted, so if there is a gain in my midsection then it is very noticeable.

I would just use the containers that come with 21DF and supplement with lots of raw or lightly steamed veggies. Water, lots of ice cold water. I feel like if you've been inactive, 2/day of 21 DF is asking for an injury. I guess it depends on how you stack them.

Do you have Turbo Fire? There is a 5 day plan for losing 5+ lbs. It's meant to kick start your weight loss. I have done it and while it's not fun, it does work.

I do not. Is it a Beachbody video? Or something that I can order and watch online asap? Or is it a meal plan?

It is a Beach Body set. They are kick boxing-based hiit workouts that come with an eating plan to maximize your results. I don't know how quickly you can have it shipped to you. But I am sure you can get it overnight. I think you can subscribe to Beach Body on Demand and stream the workouts that way if you need it immediately. They usually have a free trial period.

Well that is a good problem to have. I could lose or gain 10 lbs any given day and no one would notice it. In fact, my weight loss adventure was my little secret. I had spoken to no one about it. I had lost 80 lbs overall (4 years) and no one noticed until I finally said something. Instead of hearing... you know I thought you had lost weight but was afraid to mention it, I was told, wow, that's a lot of weight but I didn't really notice it. Now there's incentive if I ever heard one.

The same thing happened to me (internally) years ago when I went in the service. I lost 95 lbs in 7 weeks and even though I knew because my clothes were a lot smaller, I could not feel it or see it. I looked in the mirror and to me there was no change in how I looked. Of course, there was, but, it was not visible to me.

A good problem would be if my weight gain went to certain body parts that are supposed to be curvy..unfortunately that never happens for me.lol.

Great job on the 80lbs!!! Seriously, kudos to you. My mother slowly gained weight over time after my youngest sibling was born.. Then several years ago she joined weight watchers, ended up losing most of it. I know how much better she felt afterwards. The point system really helped her change her lifestyle.

I admire people who have the dedication to accomplish something like you have. I'm sure it's not easy.

Seeing you're recovering from surgery and have a trip coming up soon. DO NOT and I say this with love DO NOT over do anything and risk injury! If and only if you're up to it 21 DF once a day and spend as much time on your feet as you can, walk instead of drive, stairs instead of elevator and so on, take long walks if you can. Pounding water within reason is always a good idea. I'm not a big fan of shakes and such I think real whole food is a better option and is more filling but that's just me. Also check yogurt containers for ingredients some of them are worse than candy. If your really worried about appearance get to Hot Topic or Kohl's and get a couple of cute Disney shirts that float away from the middle besides looking cute it's a good excuse to get out and be on your feet. Good luck and welcome aboard.
