So @figmentfan423 how was the bread service? Did your family enjoy it? I was hoping you might follow my lead and snap a photo or two before it got gone. I know you have said things go fast with your hungry crew.
Thanks for asking. 14 pieces of naan and none is left. Sorry no pic. By the time I remembered to get one it was gone. I have a small amount of hummus left(started with one pound dried beans, a tiny bit of eggplant, no apple and no mango chutney at all. Considering I had green salad and chick pea salad also now gone to go with it you'd think they would have left me something for lunch:cautious: BTW do you want my food bill? LOL

Our invasion won't begin in earnest until it gets colder, but we already have some climbing around on the screens and I have killed several in the house already. They are sneaky little things and will find their way inside just about no matter what you do. I sprayed the attic last fall after the first frost and then vacuumed up literally hundreds of them at a time.

Oh, this is a bit distressing. Vacuuming by the hundreds? They have been on my screens since the beginning of September. Only yesterday did I start seeing them in the house. I don't know if the one I saw downstairs was the one in my bed, or what. But I could do without a repeat of last night. LOL

Hello-

I am in with Body Combat. I haven't done this type of work out since July, so I might be sore tomorrow. LOL

As I was working out, I saw this insect flying around and I thought it was a bee. I landed in the corner of the room. It was a stink bug. Oh my gosh, you guys, you never said these things could fly. They smell bad and they fly? What? Seriously?
Oh yeah! They things are stinky little bugs!! They like to get high up and drop down too. Scares the *** out of us sometimes.

So, I have another stink bug story. I settled into my comfy bed and I felt something on my ankle. I was semi conscious and decided to chalk it up to the sheet and blanket. My husband was in bed on his laptop and I drifted off. I heard my husband get out of bed to prepare for bed. I was sleeping on my rt side and I feel something moving around at the knee. I reach down, feel something, pick it up and throw it across the room. After I did that, there was this weird odor. I was groggy and I was trying to make sense of this situation. I thought maybe my husband's laptop was over heating and it dawns on me that I have handled a stink bug. LOL

I was a bit disgusted that this bug I'd handled released bug fluid on me. I made my husband get out of the bathroom so I could wash my hands. He was confused.LOL So, I washed my hands and tried to go back to sleep, but kept thinking I was teeming with insects. My husband caught him on one of my pillows. I swear, I could smell it's stinkiness every now and again, too. I eventually did go back to sleep.

I am trying to figure out how it got into a made bed? I did have a window open in my bed room yesterday. I have screens, but I wonder if there is a gap small enough between the screen and the casing for stink bug to exploit. It had to climb into a made bed, too. *shivers*

It did kind of smell like cilantro, though.
Yep they can get in between any small spaces like the screens. I hate them!

@93boomer I hope you and yours are safe and hunkered down.
We're doing fine. Just having some rain. Maybe 40 mph gusts tomorrow even though we are inland. Very strange. DD supposed to get winds tomorrow. She's having heavy rain right now.
Got my DH out the door early. They are heading to Wilmington NC. Going to sit and be ready.
My BFF in FL texted that they are safe. Sent me a video of the wind. Bad but not too bad. They have still got power but no cable. Lost some palm fronds from a palm but other than that doing well.

Yeah, I was totally unprepared for the smell. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I am not in hurry to smell again. It was like burning plastic mixed with cilantro. I was mostly grossed out by a bug crawling up my leg while I was asleep. I was just itchy all night and I could still feel its little foot prints on my leg. The power of suggestion is strong. LOL

With the Naan bread, do you serve regular hummus (I buy a brand called Joseph's--not sure if it's down in your area). It's just the plain, traditional hummus and it's delish. But, aside of hummus, what do you serve with the Naan bread? From photos I've seen of Sanaa, it looks like there's a bunch of dipping sauces--do you do all that, or just have the hummus?

Last night was roasted carrot hummus. I made a mango, eggplant and apple chutneys. The mango one is Sanaa's recipe

I am in with a walk. I was going to do a full body circuit, but my upper body is crazy sore from yesterday. I am just having left over chili for dinner tonight. My husband surprised me with reservations to a Greek restaurant around the corner for tomorrow night. I can find some decently healthy items there, it looks like. I am looking forward to it. :)

And can we discuss how a certain poster made the hurricane thread "all about me?" Seriously--tone deaf and obnoxious.

Good afternoon! We had rain this morning and now the sun is out! yay but the winds are picking up. Talked to DH this morning. Rain is sporadic in Wilmington and some flooding happening. After seeing damage in SC, I really hope it goes by them. Keeping busy doing more bills, rubbing a meowy kitty (think she misses Daddy), and general cleaning. You know it is really hard making meals for just one. I don't see how I did it when I was in college. You make these meals but have to eat the same thing 4 times. Ugh! I don't like leftovers a lot. I want a different meal each day. Oh well...maybe I can freeze some of this stuff. Lol Have a great weekend everyone!

I often cook for one or two. On the weekends, I cook for both hubby and me, but during the week, I make my own dinner (but it's not fancy--many times it's crackers and hummus, or a sandwich, etc.)

Maybe the problem you're having is that you're making recipes that feed many more people. Perhaps you could cut the ingredients in half (that's what I do if it's just for hubs and me, if it's a recipe for 4 people). Comes out fine. I think you're just used to cooking larger recipes. I wouldn't want to eat the same thing for 4 days either.

Aside of all that, I eat lunch in the cafeteria each day during the work week, and often get whatever hot meal they're cooking, So when I got home from work, I don't want a big dinner. During the week, hubby eats earlier than I do anyway, and he likes to cook some different types of meals for himself.

I don't know what part of NC you live in, but, here in Raleigh, it started raining during the night and it has been raining hard all day long. Many areas are flooded over and even though it is supposed to be letting up soon, it hasn't yet.
