I must have missed something....I'm sorry you had a very sad day. Comfort food is a good thing for that. Can I ask what happened? Perfectly ok if you'd rather not say.

We had to have a beloved pet put down, a calico cat we have had for 18 years. She was a family member to us. I just took it hard as she was quite loved.

Hello-

I am in with Body Combat. I haven't done this type of work out since July, so I might be sore tomorrow. LOL

As I was working out, I saw this insect flying around and I thought it was a bee. I landed in the corner of the room. It was a stink bug. Oh my gosh, you guys, you never said these things could fly. They smell bad and they fly? What? Seriously?

I am looking at the hurricane thread and I can't believe people are defending $13 for an anemic ham sandwich, a bag of Rold Gold pretzels, an apple and a cookie. It honestly looks like a prison meal. SMH

This may be the one and only time I'm glad we didn't have a trip scheduled. We were at one point thinking about going this weekend, so glad we didn't.

Good morning nothing like spending time with Jillian Michaels at 3am LOL. Due to the storm my dh has to leave for work in a few minutes, his place of employment is going to be short handed for a while and he'll be working crazy hours, some days early and some days late. We were hoping to enjoy a nice quiet 4 day weekend. He got the good news a few days ago about the extra time off right before lunch and then around 2 he was told plan on only one day off. At least he called before I made arrangements to go out to Lancaster Pa. Rant over. As soon as he's gone day 9 of yoga, I'm going to need it

Blah. That is too bad that he go called away at the last minute after thinking he'd have extra time off. Is this due to the hurricane?

I'm sorry your plans fell through for the weekend. Sounds like Matthew is being a royal pain. They said on CNN an hour ago that 1/3 of Brevard county was without power and they are telling people to spare their phone batteries because if they can use their phone when the storm dies down, they can get help to you. I guess a lot of people didn't leave the evacuation zone and are now calling 911 for help and the first responders are "grounded"...they aren't allowed to move their vehicles if the winds reach 50 mph and in some places they are at 100mph, so they can't send help to people. How fast does a hurricane travel? Do you know when it's supposed to hit Jersey?

So, I have another stink bug story. I settled into my comfy bed and I felt something on my ankle. I was semi conscious and decided to chalk it up to the sheet and blanket. My husband was in bed on his laptop and I drifted off. I heard my husband get out of bed to prepare for bed. I was sleeping on my rt side and I feel something moving around at the knee. I reach down, feel something, pick it up and throw it across the room. After I did that, there was this weird odor. I was groggy and I was trying to make sense of this situation. I thought maybe my husband's laptop was over heating and it dawns on me that I have handled a stink bug. LOL

I was a bit disgusted that this bug I'd handled released bug fluid on me. I made my husband get out of the bathroom so I could wash my hands. He was confused.LOL So, I washed my hands and tried to go back to sleep, but kept thinking I was teeming with insects. My husband caught him on one of my pillows. I swear, I could smell it's stinkiness every now and again, too. I eventually did go back to sleep.

I am trying to figure out how it got into a made bed? I did have a window open in my bed room yesterday. I have screens, but I wonder if there is a gap small enough between the screen and the casing for stink bug to exploit. It had to climb into a made bed, too. *shivers*

It did kind of smell like cilantro, though.

The only good news is it isn't coming north at least at this point. it's going to do a loop in the Atlantic and hopefully it will die there!

I'm wondering if my citronella plants keep them away. I know there are stink bugs and mosquitos in my area but I don't have a problem with either even though I'm just off a lake.

Our invasion won't begin in earnest until it gets colder, but we already have some climbing around on the screens and I have killed several in the house already. They are sneaky little things and will find their way inside just about no matter what you do. I sprayed the attic last fall after the first frost and then vacuumed up literally hundreds of them at a time.
