Stay safe! and keep an eye on the weather reportsHello-
I am in with a legs circuit. Hopefully, I won't be as sore as I was last week. LOL
We're kind of keeping an eye on Matthew, too. Hopefully, that will stay away.
I'm praying for the best and prepping for the worst. I'm going to stock my freezer with precooked items that can be reheated on the grill or camp stove, make some extra bread, charge all the charge packs. We had no power after Sandy for a week, some not far from me 2 weeks. Good luck and be prepared everybody!Good morning!! Wonderful to see sunshine and not as cool this morning! Today is just walking. But, I just heard from my DH and he may leave on Friday to head to the coast for power restoration if Mathew hits. So laundry is a must-do. I also need to do some painting outside since it is dry today. Everyone keep watching the weather since it isn't guaranteed where Mathew will go yet. Take care and have a healthy, safe, and magical day everyone!!![]()
Calm down almost anything can be reheated over indirect heat on a grill. Roasted veggies are great on a grill, eggs and pancakes can be done in an old pan. Heck you can do a whole roast over indirect heat with the lid closed. Salad requires no cooking. I make a batch of quinoa before a storm if it looks like it's going to be a bad one. Canned beans and such are useful, make sure you have a hand turned opener. Just make sure you have batteries, flashlights, I have some left over glow sticks from out trip. Have some emergency cash on hand, a full tank of gas and some games and books. you are far enough inland that the only thing you have to worry about is power. As of now it looks like the northeast will be spared the worst but please keep an eye on the weather.I guess since I am more used to tornado and blizzard preparation, I really don't know what do for this storm in terms of cooking. I know the biggest threat to me is extended loss of power, but I don't know what types of food to prepare and then cook out doors?
I only have a grill, if the power goes out.

Good idea. if it looks like it may be bad make sure to get to the store at least 2 days prior to the start of bad weather. They get crazy as people remember SandyI wasn't panicking, I was just looking for food ideas.I've never experienced a power outage longer than 24 hours and even then, I could have a pizza delivered. I'll keep an eye on the forecast and work from there.

What she said! Good luck everyone! I also have to keep water to flush the toilet here. Plus, cat food for the kitty and drinking water. Hope this thing goes fast and gets out of here!Calm down almost anything can be reheated over indirect heat on a grill. Be safe and i hope it goes out to sea and your dh doesn't have to deal with any damage! I didn't even think about water I always have a couple of cases of bottles and several 5 gallon jugs just in case. What she said! Good luck everyone! Thanks! I hope not either. They are saying millions could be without power. Ugh! I think they are getting together 75% of their work force to deal with it. Good luck to you! Make sure if your power does go out, let us know you are ok as soon as you get it back on.![]()
