working out for Disney

Whelp, after being down for the count with a (thankfully viral) upper respiritory infection, then playing catch up with all the homework I put off because I felt so bad I did not care, and then surviving my first round of tests for the semester, I'm back to working out. Last Saturday I went to Hershey Park. I count that as a workout in itself. I had to take a few days off from that because of soreness. Given at one point I was jogging in between roller coasters, I really should not be surprised. Nothing like roller coasters for motivation. :joyfull:

Anyway, yesterday I finally got back to working out after a few days of having too many obligations and too little times. Did a 30 minute Pilates DVD, which was an ab, arm and shoulder, and thigh workout. I just fimished 30 minutes on my trampoline. Thought about getting on the bike, but was too tired.

Planning strength training tomorrow, and then more cardio Sunday. Monday will be an off day, as usual.
I'm so happy you're back on track and healthy once again. I want a trampoline but my dh thinks the boys will get silly and get in trouble with it. :cautious:

Happy farm market Saturday. I have just enough to make a blueberry kale smoothie for breakfast then I have to get grocery shopping. 2 Supermarkets, the farm market and Sam's. I like Costco better but our membership is almost free at Sam's thnx to my dh's job. I'm on day 3 of yoga with Adrienne and I'm glad it's done because I'm not sure what else I'm going to have time to do today. Enjoy your weekend.

Drum roll: I've lost 5 pounds! Decided to drop some weight because my BP was up a bit (my dr. said it wasn't bad, but I figured if I lost some weight, it might go lower.) I don't have a fancy diet; I just cut down on what I eat, limit treats, and try to move a bit more. (Oh, I plan to lose another 15 pounds or so and it will take time, but I'll get there!) ;)

Have fun, that sounds like quite the adventure you're going to have.

Had a fun adventure, but it was a very long, tiring day that I may just be getting too old for. It was a three hour drive, then parking and taking the shuttle bus to Robins AFB tacked on another hour, then many hours in the hot sun, then another hour plus waiting in line for the shuttle back to parking, then we stopped for BBQ. Now, I am not complaining, we had a great day at a great event, but it was physically trying. The Thunderbirds are awesome, as were all the other fliers and on ground demos too. We sat in a great location. Here is a preview pic, and if there is any interest, I might post a few pics in a separate chit chat thread.

I'm sure that others would also be interested in seeing your pictures. It's been years since I last saw the Thunderbirds perform. I'd love to see more pictures (in a separate chit chat thread--that would also get the attention of other interested members).

I have one where the legs fold up and you can slide it under the bed. I will do this going forward. My bungees need to be replaced because a certain 14 yo wanted to see how high he could jump and the elastic started coming out.

Good morning 30 day shred JM and day 5 Yoga with Adrienne. The usual smoothie for breakfast, salad with left over peppers and onions and I'm torn about dinner. It's going to be rainy for most of the morning at least maybe a couple of chutneys, some hummus and naan. That should warm the house up along with roasting a few veggies.

Hello-

I am recommitting to better eating and regular exercise this week. I am just struggling with the shortened amount of sunlight. My husband was out of town last week and I just picked at food instead of eating proper meals. My son cooks for himself, so that leaves me cooking for one--that's when I get lazy.

I am looking for a place to use my light box. I am thinking my bedroom. We have a half wall. One side is the bed, dressers, etc. The other is a sofa, love seat, TV, etc. I am thinking sitting on the sofa and using it from there. It will be easy to drag my sleepy butt over to the sofa. LOL It needs to be used before the sun comes up to mimic long summer days and it needs to be positioned a certain way, as if it was the sun. So that is one my goals today, setting up my light box to use tomorrow morning. :)

My wife made Mulligatawny Soup while I was away Saturday. It was the best yet. Her's may be better than what we get at BOMA. She used big chunks of Granny Smith apples and less curry than the last time and it was just right. Last time the curry overpowered everything else, but cutting back some made it just right. I had a couple of bowls for dinner last night. She said it was better the next day than when fresh...maybe the flavors had time to come together?
