working out for Disney

Good afternoon! After running errands before rain, now I am cleaning the house. I have to do weights but am holding out that I can walk with DH after dinner-if this rain goes away:(
I need the sun to come back out. It's depressing! :banghead:
Sorry @figmentfan423 I think it is headed up your way!
Everyone have a safe and happy weekend! DH is off to make it a long weekend. We have The Monkees concert on Tuesday! So happy!! :D

I did the 3 mile walk today, but I had to modify the knee lifts in the last mile because my hip was starting to hurt, so I switched to kicks and kickbacks instead. It worked well. Then I did the ab workout...it gets a bit easier every time I do it. I think that's a good sign.
Tomorrow will be a rest day as it's DD's birthday and we are having her party with the family. (party number 2) Monday I have a meeting with my boss at work so I'll be riding my bike. I could use some positive thoughts and pixie dust about the meeting, if anyone is so inclined.

Way to go and you were also very smart about it.

My power went out for a few minutes in the middle of the night so every alarm in my house went off:mad: At least it came back on so I spent some quality time with Shiva Rea and did 5 12 minute miles with LS. Farm market and taking my ds for a bus ride. Nap to follow:)

My hip was killing me Saturday after my workout and I had trouble walking for the rest of the weekend, so I called the doctor this morning to ask if I can get another shot before our trip. The assistant said she didn't think it would be a problem, but she had to talk to the doctor and she'd call me back. She never did, so I guess I'll call tomorrow, but hopefully it's good news.

Happy cardio day, for me any way LOL Some Zumba a couple of LS miles and 6 lovely miles out in the sun. I love summer.:joyfull: Tonight's veggie chili night with salad and baked polenta squares. If it's just a bit warm to turn on the oven I may just pull out some chips for the boys and skip the extra carbs

Good morning LS 5 fat burning miles and just for fun I did a 10 minute mile just to see if I could do it. Not too bad for an old broad LOL Today is clean out the fridge day so left overs for all. My dh has lost 4 pounds just by going gluten free. It seems he does have an issue with it or the weight wouldn't have dropped that quickly seeing he's changed nothing else. Have an excellent day and stay hydrated

Okay - I have not read this whole thread, but all I'm going to say about working out for Disney (or for any other reason) is that I am the laziest person in the entire world, and if I can do it, anyone can. Considering that I eat this sort of dinner like it is going out of style -

Salvatore's 1.JPG

- and this is like a basic serving of drinks for me -

Oh wait, sorry - that's not a full serving of drinks. That's just the appetizer. ;)

But anyway, the way I feel is that the only way I am allowed to do whatever I want (as far as eating and drinking goes) is if I pay the price in the gym. This seems to get more important the older I get. At this point, I'm in my 40's and my metabolism has come to a complete standstill - if I put on cherry chapstick, I gain 5 pounds.

So in order to partake in the pizza and the cocktails, I have to do this:

And this, whatever crazy lunatic pose this is, and look how miserable I look:

But anyway, I am not really a fan of working out, but in my opinion, it is totally necessary, and especially if you have bad habits like I do (errr - 300 cocktails per hour anyone?), and honestly, once you get into the pattern, you will feel great when you do it, and kind of like a schlub when you miss a day, and when you get to your Disney vacation, you will be fully entitled to go completely insane and have anything your heart desires without worry. Have a great time everyone. :)

Welcome aboard and my dh has you beat in the lazy department. At least he has a nice long walk from where he parks to where he works:D

Good morning LS 5 advanced miles today and I'm going to do some yoga later as I'll need it because everybody is home today and will bug the heck out of me LOL Due to the beautiful warm weather I'm going raw today greens and berry smoothie for breakfast, assorted veggie salad with guacamole dressing for lunch, pina colada smoothie for snack and salad for dinner. The guys are getting stir "fried" beef with bok choi, mushrooms, peppers, carrots and such with a spicy gf orange sauce. Keep moving forward and stay hydrated.

OMG, Buddy you absolutely crack me up!!! :hilarious: Love those pictures. (Just a suggestion: In order to get the benefit of a gym workout, you need to set aside the selfie camera, and actually work out on the equipment. The equipment is not there just for background props for your pictures. :p ) All kidding aside, good for you for going to the gym.
