So @figmentfan423 I am eating lots more salad and even beginning to like them, or at least not resent having to give up fried potatoes, fried squash, heck fried anything I like better than salad!
Sorry got a little sidetracked.
Anyway, I still use too much salad dressing and I know they are full of chemicals, carbs and calories, but just can't, or I suppose I should say won't, eat the salads without plenty of dressing. I usually go for ranch because it is lower in carbs than my favorite, thousand island.
Do you have any good salad dressing recipes or links to homemade dressing recipes you would care to share? I have a Vitamix blender and it does a great job, so making it creamy won't be a problem. I don't really care a lot for vinaigrette type dressings but will use them ever now and then for a change of pace. With fresh veggies coming in in about a month or less, I see a lot of salads (and yes, some fried squash) in my future.
I don't know how you do with beans but most of my creamy ones are either tofu or white beans in place of mayo. I have one that I eyeball 1 large carrot, about one inch of ginger a glug of Bragg's(it's like soy sauce) a couple of packets of stevia or monkfruit and take it for a spin in the blender. I second @93boomer try balsamic vinegar and dijon in a vinagarette. Just watch the sugar in the balsamic some are much better than others. I'll look for a few others later

I make my own Ranch dressing, but I don't measure anything. I just dump things in and go by smell. You start with a base of mayonaise or miracle whip, (I use mayo) and add either milk or buttermilk to thin it to a texture you like. Then you add garlic powder, onion powder, MSG (or not), salt, and black pepper. You can add dill if you like it. I prefer a more mild taste, so I use regular milk and mayo and no dill, and I go easy on the onion powder. Ranch is about the only dressing I like.
Thanks. I bet I can make this. And just dump things in and go are directions I can follow.

Love beans and they cause no digestion problems. I need the fiber. Never heard of replacing mayo with beans. Maybe I could start out switching out a little mayo for a little bit of beans and work my way up. And here is what I will be replacing with tofu...nothing, ever. :joyfull:

Do you get dried white beans and soak them and then boil them, or do you get a canned variety? And how do you thin it out? I imagine it's pretty thick when you puree it....do you use almond milk?

Canned or dried then boiled beans both work well and I use either plain unsweetened almond or soy milk depending on what's in the house

I did the LS Ab workout this morning and I tried a couple of pilates ones, but I think pilates just isn't compatible with my body. Years ago, I had problems with my wrists after doing wall push-ups and the doctor told me that my wrists are too weak to do any sort of push-up things. Then back when I was pregnant with my daughter, I went to physical therapy because I had trouble walking and the PT said I am not supposed to move my legs independently in certain ways...like, I can walk and ride a bike, but I'm not supposed to do things that shift my weight from one hip to the other. If I lie on my back, I have to move both knees together to roll over on to my side, etc. So in this pilates, there was a move where you have one leg straight, parallel to the floor, the other straight up and then you switch them. It hurt my hip so I didn't do that. Also, the things where you lie on your side and raise one leg up or make circles...it was too painful. Maybe someday, but at this point, it's not good for my joints.

Sympathy like. With your trip coming up soon be very, very careful!!!!! If you can only do walking in place just do that! Every little bit counts just do what you can!

I'd just like to share with all of you that I did not gain one pound while I was at Disney for the past 4 days!!

I just stepped on my scale here at home and it's the same since I left on Sunday morning!! :) Please keep in mind that I ate like a pig down there (I also had ice cream 2 out of 4 days). But I guess with all the walking I did over 4 days, I must have somehow burned off the extra calories! :joyfull: (It was also hot during some of the time, and maybe I sweat out some of it, too? o_O ) Whatever--I'm happy I didn't gain!!

I did a LS 3 mile walk today. Thank you so much for introducing me to those workouts. They are so much better for my body than the Turbo Jam. I used the weights and it was great. I'm going to talk to my doctor about the possibility of getting another injection before our trip so that maybe it will be completely healed by then. It's SOOO much better than it was back in October and at least I can walk now and most of the time I can do workouts, but it would be nice to have the pain completely gone

Good morning and welcome back @MinnieM123! Last night I did Rodney Yee's pm yoga lots of forward bends. This morning was weights and kickboxing and later will be walking lots of walking. It's going to be beautiful and seeing my boys have 1/2 day I'm going out to hide from them LOL
Be careful not to overdo it yourself!! I know you are practically an expert now, but as much as you seem like superwoman, your body is mortal just like the rest of us. (Unless there's something you're not telling us?) Being in shape is great, but you won't be helpful to your family by overworking yourself to exhaustion.

Thank you for your concern. I'm doing almost exactly the same workout schedule I did right before our last trip.
