working out for Disney

Hello,

Me, again. :) I did Body Pump today. I like this service so far. They are live (but taped) classes and they are really well produced. The instructors do a good job squeezing out the last reps I thought I couldn't do. I burned a ton of calories, too. I can't get the clip off of my barbell, though. I'll work on it later and order some later on. It happened in the middle of the work out and I was in a rush to start the next set. I just finished with dumbbells. :)

I have a "Thai-inspired" meat loaf in the oven made with extra-lean turkey and I'll probably go out for a walk after dinner.

Here are some I subscribe to. I think Jessica Smith has the most variety and she's mostly low impact.

Jenny Ford (Stepping, walking and some hi/low)

Jessica Smith (This is a mix of everything, some weights, circuits, walking, hi/lo, etc.)

Linda Wooldridge (ballet, barre)

Thank you! I will check these out!

I'm jealous.....it was so rainy today. It POURED for a while...so much for going for a walk in the park. Anyone have any low impact workouts I can do inside that are maybe on youtube? I'm wondering if I can do LS....I'm pretty sure I can't handle Turbo Jam yet.
You're right to stay away from Chalean at lest for a while most everything she does is higher impact, I don't know why but she grates on my nerves sometimes. Leslie Sansone is wonderful, I've had work done on my knees and her DVDs allowed me to get back into 1/2 way decent shape. I also like in most of but not of her workouts the group in them are people of all shapes, sizes and ages for the most part. The other good thing in almost all of them she says you can't do it wrong. As long as you're moving to the beat you're getting miles and miles done. I also like Jillian Michaels workouts some of which can be found on youtube. If you decide to do any of them do Level One only for a while and if you do any weights skip at least one day between weight workouts. Good luck

Speaking of Leslie Sansone i did her 5 day ultimate walk plan. The walking portion only, no weights today! It's beautiful so I'm going to try and get as many miles in today as I can because tomorrow is my off day:joyfull: Sometimes getting up early is great! I already have veggie soup on. I need to use up a bunch of veggies because I cornered the market again yesterday:D

In my travels yesterday I ran into our doctor and his dw at the veggie store. It seems his doctor and his dw have put him on a diet (his numbers we're great) anyhoo he's now on the Ornish plan (mostly vegan with a small amount of no fat dairy) I spent a good deal of time walking her through a few of my favorite things to do with veggies and giving her a list of veggie cookbooks. We also spent some time talking about my family's trip this summer and she also took a few notes about that. They are such a lovely couple.

Can you send him a bill for consultation? Or is that a one way street? ;):joyfull:

Hello-

I just finished Body Combat. I did the same one I did Thursday night, because I am still learning the choreography/moves. Man, I wish these were an hour long. They are meant to be 55 minutes long, but they cut off at the 30 minute mark. My husband and my son went to the gym, so I cranked up the music. :)

I have chicken marinating in the fridge and I will fire up the grill shortly. I have a bottle of wine in there, too. It's gorgeous here today, so I am going to sit outside with a glass of wine.

Why do they cut off at 30 minutes? Is it a trial membership thing where you don't get full access?

I was wondering that, too. Some of the different types of workouts are 55 minutes though. It's just Body Combat that is shortened. I asked them on FB and I received no response. I am going to email them to ask. I know I could double up, but that doesn't solve the missing cool down/stretch.

So, I emailed them and they responded that others have been asking for more of the 55 minute content, too. I do like that there is a mix of different times, but for cardio, I like to go for at least 45 minutes. :)

Hello-

I am in with a long walk. It's in the low 80's here and perfectly sunny. It's going to be like this tomorrow, too. :)
I am going to grill some turkey burgers later on and top them with avocado.

Good morning Upper body weights and cardio so far. I didn't do any lower body because it's going into the 80s and I want to do as much walking as I can before my legs give out LOL I managed to get beans done in the slow cooker, a bunch of chicken and boneless pork grilled, potatoes roasted, pasta with sundries tomato sauce made and salad and veggies chopped yesterday so there's no cooking for me today:) Just some housework and laundry. Hello great outdoors!

You bought the DVDs right? It sounds like a glitch in the disc. I hope you can get answers!!

Wait...you bought a set of DVDs and not all the content is on it? Of COURSE people want more of the 55 minute content. If you paid for it, you should have it!

We're still grey and yucky today, but tomorrow it's supposed to at least be dry. I have a work evaluation tomorrow, so I have to ride my bike there, and then since I had to sign the kids up to stay at school anyway, I'm going to go do a bit of shopping for craft supplies. I work tonight, so that will be my exercise for the day as much as I would love to do more, I can't. Tomorrow will be bike. Then Wednesday we are finally supposed to get back up over 50 degrees and partly sunny, so maybe, if I don't need a rest day, I can go for the walk I didn't get last week because of the rain.
