Well, as suspected, nothing yesterday (unless walking around the grocery store and lifting groceries counts) since I was cramming for a test today. Got in an hour walk today again, though. It was 80 degrees outside during my walk. I was so happy. I was sad when I had to stop to make it to class (although I'm back outside again). Tomorrow after I run one tutoring appointment, it will be spring break, so I figure I'll have more time for a daily workout for the next 11 days. Tomorrow, it will be chillier, but still should be relatively nice, so probably either another walk or some weights. Sunday will likely be rainy, so trying to get all my outside time in. Next week is supposed to have a few days in the 70s as well.

Have I mentioned how much I love warm weather.

So I think I am doing pretty good in trying to eat better and to cut back on the carbs. I am not fanatical about it and until I was told by the Dr. that I had to get my numbers down I did not worry a whole lot about it. I just did not put a lot of thought and effort into watching carbs, just tried to eat less breads, cakes, etc...but when you are watching closely it can be a pain. I think I am doing good with a burger with no bun then realize how many carbs are in the ketchup. I eat meatballs without the pasta then read the marinara sauce ingredients.
Snacking is a problem because I used to just open the cabinet and grab something. Chips, snack cake...whatever.
Us low carb folks gotta snack too. I find snacking difficult as all the stuff I want is loaded with carbs...Little Debbie, cupcakes, chips, even beef jerky. Today I just wanted something to hold me over. Used what I had and it was quite good and only about 3 carbs. Took some deli sliced ham, provolone and peppers and just rolled them up into a handy snack. It squelched the craving and held me over for a little while without my gobbling down lots of carbs I don't want or need. OK, so it is just a small victory over temptation, but I'll take it.

Mid seventies with a slight breeze here today. Good walking weather. Time change and warmer temps will give more time in the evening for exercise. I do much better outdoors.
We have an elliptical machine and a total gym...and I walk past them every day, but that does not burn many calories. Dust them every now and then and that is good for maybe 10 calories of exertion. Gotta get the tires pumped up on the bicycles too!

Yes, warm weather makes the daily effort so much better. As I reach a more advanced age (double speak for old as dirt) I find my tolerance to the cold has lessened. It used to be my wife and I would go to the mountains just too look for frozen waterfalls when it got really cold. The cold was fun. We would head north anytime the news said there was higher elevation snow, just to make a snow angel or throw some snowballs. Now, we both would rather just curl up with a book by the fire. Anyway, that was a long-winded way to agree with you about the warm weather.

I liked the snow when I was a kid. Going outside was fun. Getting off school was even better. As I've gotten older (I'm not "old"; I'm only in my 20s), I've become more sensitive to the cold. Once I started driving, I started hating the cold weather even more. Initially, my parents wouldn't let me drive in the bad weather and I had to take the bus to school (which was wise of them, but I hated riding the bus). Then, they had no choice when I was commuting to college, and I've discovered it's a gigantic pain in the to drive in bad weather. Although I've never been diagnosed, I suspect I have seasonal affective disorder, so the lack of sunlight and ability to be outside really impacts me in the winter. I've been a lot better this year because we've had random warm days mixed in with the cold days that I've been able to go outside. I'd like to move south after I graduate because I think overall I'll do better there.

I get a rash. It happens with raspberries, too. Yeah, I don't know if would be happy to have all of intolerances your friend's daughter has. What's left, indeed. :)
I guess it probably depends on the person how it affects you. One of my friends becomes deathly ill if she has artificial sweeteners. My daughter gets an upset stomach if she eats too much watermelon. I have to severely limit her intake. And then one of my friends' son is allergic to nuts and he can't breathe if he eats something with them in it. I'm so glad I don't have any real food issues. It's bad enough that I can't have Penicillin or EES. But to not be able to have every day food like gluten, or dairy...I'd be lost.

Good morning checking in with LS's 5 advanced miles (at least that has upper body) Nothing like getting up at 3:hilarious: to be able to squeeze in a workout before having to start getting people up. It's still raining and I'm hoping it stops before the sun is up so I can go out for a walk:)

It was a pain but I got used to it and not having rashes or breathing issues makes it worth while to give up what bothers me:)

I like your little roll-up snack--very creative! :hungry:

How about keeping a package of peanuts in your kitchen? Grabbing a handful of nuts can also fill you up quickly, and it's immediately available--no preparation, etc. :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I do have some peanuts and some almonds on hand for a quick, healthy snack. Sometimes I eat too many at once, but not often. The rollup snack was just me looking around to try to come up with something satisfying and it turned out pretty good. Will try it with turkey and pepper jack cheese too.

How about cauliflower wings? Take florets lightly coat them in almond meal, bake and top with a bit of hot sauce
