Good morning, Jessica Smith's armed and dangerous and LS walk to the party hits. I made it through with no modifications this morning. I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to add weights back into my lower body workouts quite yet. I'm still thinking better safe than sorry for a bit longer. I might try doing some kickboxing before doing harder leg stuff.

So I thought starting this week, I'd begin to cut down a bit on some of the sweets that I eat. (I'm not eliminating junk completely, but cutting back.) I found that Libby's has these 4-pack, individual portions of green beans, or corn, or carrots. Bought a pack of each. All you have to do is nuke the little container for 30 seconds, and you have hot, cooked veggies. When I come home from work during the week, I don't cook. I sort of snack on hummos and/or cheese and crackers, or instant spuds, or instant mac and cheese. Then maybe a cookie, or some candy, and milk. So I thought if I added a nuked veggie cup some nights, instead of the sweets, that would be healthier. :)

Oh, almost forgot--Del Monte has the same type of 4-pack, individual sized fruit cups of pineapple and other varieties. I bought a few packages and put in refrigerator; maybe for variety, some nights I'll have those instead of the veggie cups.
Great ideas, I haven't seen the individual cups of veggies. I hope I can find them around here.

You will be surprised what a difference in cutting out sweets makes. And honestly, once you cut way back, you will crave them less. I don't really understand it, but for me, I used to crave, even dream about sweet, gooey desserts and really bad for me stuff. I thought Little Debbie snack cakes were a food group. Now, I have not had one in so long I don't really remember. Of course, Saturday's little adventure made up for not having any sweets.
Good for you on the veggies...we have been eating a lot more veggies and are always stocking up when they are on sale.
Me too. I love veggies and fix them in so many ways, sometimes I put salsa on them, or a small amount BBQ sauce, or Spaghetti sauce....small amount. Changes up the flavor when I want something to change them up.

it was very hard to behave but with a big trip this coming summer it was well worth it. seeing I have had past knee issues I didn't have to do official PT. I made a compromise on exercise and did a few range of motion things each day.
Good for you, once you get into an exercise regime it's hard to quit. (At least that was the way it was for me in the past)

My older ds gained a bit of weight around the holidays all around the middle:eek:. Not my fault, he went to way too many junk food parties. He was given a choice between several diets and chose the skip a day, Dr Oz. He's been on it a week and lost 3 pounds all off the middle. That's even with skipping a day. He likes getting an egg or smoothie in the morning and seeing he has to eat extra veggies he gets to pick what ones he wants. So far I've been water sauteing onions, peppers and a green of his choice and topping it with a poached egg, he also gets 7 oz of yogurt and one serving with fruit. His lunch today was 1/2 cup brown rice, a huge and I mean huge pile of spagetti squash, 3oz turkey topped with tomato sauce(no fat no sugar homemade) and the same for dinner, plus a salad. I already weighed out his nuts for snacking on. Today's choice peanuts and almonds 2 ounces

Try this if they have it in your area. It is great on veggies. I put it on all kinds of things, really good. Has a nice, yet very favorable kick to it, as opposed to just hot.
