Thanks for the tips. These items will go on my grocery list. You'll need to find a nondairy starter or use some nondairy yogurt with live cultures and with nondairy you might need just a bit of gelatin unflavored!

THNX and you may have to go some place like whole foods to find the starterI'm off to play like I'm at Disney today, curtains are drawn and the heat is cranked up. So, it shouldn't be too hard. Have a great day everyone, glad you are doing better @figmentfan 423.
Thanks for the information, I'm going to look up crock pot recipes for yogurt making.
We have a whole foods a couple miles away, I wanted to go there and check out their produce. I'm hoping for better than the regular grocery stores.THNX and you may have to go some place like whole foods to find the starter

Thanks. I'm going to look at this. I like the idea of creating my own flavored yogurts without all of the sugar of the supermarket brands.
Me too. Just can't digest the stuff. And I just realized you said you don't do dairy. Sorry!
One day off is no big deal just get back on the healthy wagon today. Good luck and I hope you enjoyed yourself.OK, just wanted to share this as I have been talking a lot about eating better. Well, that did not happen today.
We volunteer with a couple of non-profits and today was a fundraiser, bake-off and we were judges, along with a couple of others. There were two rounds of competition between nine teams of bakers creating displays and decorating some very delicious cupcakes.
Of course, along with technical merit, there were several other categories including theme, design, teamwork, and taste.
So here I am, diabetic (they did not know this when they asked me to be a judge, and I did not mention it and was glad to lend a hand) and I only took small bites of each entry, enough to get an idea of how good it was.
It was fun, but I know I consumed a ridiculous amount of calories, and about a gazillion grams of sugar. It was worth it, but I can really tell this sugar high is going to last awhile.
Anyway, just felt like sharing...hope I did not bore you too much.

Yeah, I jumped way off the wagon, but will hop back on when it comes back by.One day off is no big deal just get back on the healthy wagon today. Good luck and I hope you enjoyed yourself.
No loss in range of motion means PT paid off and you took the recovery process seriously. Way to go!Good morning. I'm doing a happy dance as I did Yoga Works beginner's DVD. I like that one because it seems to get everything in line and stretched out. I'm also beyond happy i don't have any loss in range of motion, I was a bit worried. So with the rain coming down today I'm out to stock up on all sorts of healthy food including extra lean ground turkey which is on sale. BTW the turkey isn't for me LOL Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thank you. It was fun!Bore us? Hardly! I think that was a very nice gesture that you wanted to help out the fundraiser. You get extra points for that!
You will be surprised what a difference in cutting out sweets makes. And honestly, once you cut way back, you will crave them less. I don't really understand it, but for me, I used to crave, even dream about sweet, gooey desserts and really bad for me stuff. I thought Little Debbie snack cakes were a food group. Now, I have not had one in so long I don't really remember. Of course, Saturday's little adventure made up for not having any sweets. So I thought starting this week, I'd begin to cut down a bit on some of the sweets that I eat. (I'm not eliminating junk completely, but cutting back.) I found that Libby's has these 4-pack, individual portions of green beans, or corn, or carrots. Bought a pack of each. All you have to do is nuke the little container for 30 seconds, and you have hot, cooked veggies. When I come home from work during the week, I don't cook. I sort of snack on hummos and/or cheese and crackers, or instant spuds, or instant mac and cheese. Then maybe a cookie, or some candy, and milk. So I thought if I added a nuked veggie cup some nights, instead of the sweets, that would be healthier.
Oh, almost forgot--Del Monte has the same type of 4-pack, individual sized fruit cups of pineapple and other varieties. I bought a few packages and put in refrigerator; maybe for variety, some nights I'll have those instead of the veggie cups.
That's a wonderful idea, every thing helps. Do you have a salad bar where you can get decent pre cut veggies? That and a healthy dressing might be another good additionSo I thought starting this week, I'd begin to cut down a bit on some of the sweets that I eat.
