working out for Disney

I didn't workout yesterday because I was messing around with my cake most of the day. I had intentions of working out, but by the time I was done with my stupid cake, it was time to get ready to go out to dinner. But I did workout today. I did a Fitness Blender workout on You Tube.

Citrus fruit from Florida is the best, IMO. My in-laws just sent us a box of oranges, and, grapefruits and there were also pears and apples. The oranges are so tasty!! Haven't tried the other fruit just yet, but I'll get to it soon (except for grapefruits--I never liked those). Years ago, I drove up a road in Clermont and saw all the citrus growing fields, and the old Citrus Tower, too. I love old roadside attractions like that. The area was very nice.
I loved staying in Clermont, right off 27, you could smell the oranges from the house.

Yes, something about the fresh Florida citrus that is just so much better than what you get at the grocery store. We too have driven through the orange groves. I am not much on grapefruit either but have found I can tolerate them if I cut them in half, sprinkle it with salt and spoon it out. Some grapefruit are sweeter, less bitter than others, but I don't remember what kind the sweeter ones were.
The ruby red ones are generally pretty sweet.

Good morning I cranked the music and did upper body and some abs. The weather is going to be glorious so both groups I walk with are going out and we're going to do the full 2 1/2 miles both times. I have no plans to spend much time inside today. Now for the good news/bad news LOL I didn't keep totally raw yesterday, mushroom sliders were on sale. I love them on bibb lettuce with tomato, onion and avacado:hungry::hungry::hungry: Best of all I have enough for 2 more meals:hungry::joyfull::inlove:

That sounds delicious. Luckily, this cake was just for a few people for my birthday. It was just my husband, my son, my mother, my grandmother and me--nobody who was going to say anything negative about it. But it did taste really good, even though it wasn't my best effort.

I made this cake for my husband's birthday:

My husband is from Liverpool and I put the colors of his football/soccer team in his cake:

But they all can't be winners, I guess. :)
Well, happy birthday to you. And your husband's strawberry topped birthday cake looks delicious. Nicely done.

good morning! a bit of colder weather moved in so I'm cutting back walking outside. 5 advanced miles LS so far. Last night's dinner was a veggie curry and salad and I've been really good about having a smoothie with greens daily for a while now. Today I'm making pasta which I won't(make that can't) have. Pasta with ground beef, peppers, onions a homemade sauce and mozzerella. I'm also making sausage and peppers. Have a great day and be healthy

Good evening-

I am checking in with yesterday's workout and today's workout. Yesterday was a sweaty hiit and abs workout and today was lighter cardio with bodyweight exercises. Tomorrow is a stretch day and possibly a walk--if the weather isn't too nippy. My husband has a job interview in Manhattan tomorrow, so he's leaving super early in the morning and flying back to Chicago tomorrow night. They only let him know that they wanted to see him yesterday. Nothing like giving advance notice! LOL

Sending prayers and pixie dust for his interview. At least the weather will be good out here on the coast until late afternoon. Have you considered where you'd live if he gets it?

So I decided to go meatless for dinner the other night and it turned out really good. I made cabbage sauteed in olive oil and sprinkled with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder and black pepper and also tossed in some crushed red pepper flakes for a little extra kick. To accompany the big pot of cabbage, I made great northern beans and added a pat of butter to give it a bit more creaminess. The beans went surprisingly well with the cabbage. Also made carrots simmered in butter with a little bit of cinnamon and sugar tossed in, but not much sugar. To go with all this veggie goodness, a broccoli salad with red onions and yellow raisins, but I think I put too much mayo in it.
A little cooler here than it has been but still unusually warm for December and they are saying we are going to break high temp records next week, so no excuse for not walking. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
