Hey Figgy!
Yeah, we are fine, just been busy with a couple of trips, both business and pleasure, and have not logged on here in awhile.
A couple of weekends ago we went to Pensacola for the Blue Angels homecoming airshow, the second time we saw them in two weeks. Great show and we had great seats. Will post a few pics.
Things are getting nasty here today with a forecast of 2-5 inches of rain and high winds with the possibility of downed trees and clogged drains due to falling leaves. Could be an interesting next several hours.
I weighed this past weekend and have dropped below 220lbs for the first time in a very long time. 218 and counting. Will probably only drop to 205-210 or so then go on an effort at maintenance rather than losing weight, but since I have been losing slowly, maintenance should not be too difficult as I have made lifestyle and food changes more than just trying a diet.
More veggies, more protein and a lot of grilling, as I enjoy grilling. With my egg grill, grilling in colder weather is no problem as it holds temps very well even in cold weather.
Anyway, thanks for thinking of me and thanks for the encouragement.
Thanks everyone here for setting a fine example and leading with encouragement and motivation.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picture Kermit the frog jumping around and that's me. I can't tell you how happy I am for you!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember you saying 220 was only a dream once upon a time. You can do it, just be careful next week LOL and so sorry to hear about the weather. Stay safe!!!!!! xoxo

Yeah, I have already decided to only have a taste of the stuffing and gravy, potatoes and such and concentrate on the green beans, coleslaw, and turkey. There are lots of low carb options I can still enjoy. The hard part is staying away from the dessert table...so many choices, most of them dangerous! I have been enjoying sliced, fresh fruit lately, but try not to overindulge in it because there is still plenty of natural sugars in the stuff I like including apples and grapes.
I do enjoy leftover turkey made into turkey salad and I have discovered something I really like I thought I would share...they are called Wickles...wicked pickles. It is bread and butter pickles made with garlic and peppers...kind of a sweet and spicy at the same time. Gonna try these in the turkey salad and see if it gives it a kick. Gotta be careful though, too much sugar in these to overindulge.

That sounds wonderful. I bet the kitchen will smell fantastic. Lately I have been eating honeycrisp apples but also like golden delicious and pink ladies. I am lucky to live in an area where they grow apples and the fresh ones are so delicious.
My wife makes apple fritters with granny smith apples with cinnamon and sugar wrapped in pastry then the whole pan gets a 12 ounce can of Mountain Dew poured in and it is baked until golden brown and the Dew is absorbed and makes a nice, sticky, gooey coating. It is just stupid good, especially served warm with cold, cold milk.
She tried it with splenda and diet Mountain Dew for me once and it was mostly nasty...just did not work for some reason.
Either way, real or fake with diet Dew, so many chemicals...can't be good for anyone, but the real one sure tastes good, even if I only have a bite or three.

This Saturday is the last one for my farm market so I'll be cornering the apple market, I've already got a freezer full of cranberries for sauce one with sugar and 2 without. I'll be cooking for 3 straight days as Thanksgiving is at my house. This year's theme BBQ and traditional. My dh is smoking a pork butt, 1/2 a turkey, baked beans and mac and cheese(one regular and one gluten free and vegan) needless to say a very large fresh salad will also be served. LOL

Stay safe!! We had nasty winds for the last few days. Last night, it blew over trees, it picked up our trampoline and moved it, it set off someone's car alarm. It can be pretty dangerous...one woman accidentally drove into a downed tree and was injured. Be careful out there!!
