Does cleaning up my craft stuff count as a workout? It took me about an hour of walking back and forth to get everything where it's supposed to go...and that wasn't even half my craft stuff. I had no idea I had so much!
I was supposed to work tomorrow, but they called and said it's pretty dead and I don't need to come in. I guess that's the disadvantage of being a flex worker. I only get hours when it's busy or in the vacations when the regular workers are gone. I love having the flexibility to say "No, sorry, I can't work today because I'm helping at the school" or "No, my kids have vacation from school, so I need to be home." But then I have no guarantee of a paycheck. And there goes a great workout...will have to figure something else out. But maybe it's good, because I have a scratchy throat and achy everything and I think I'm coming down with something, so maybe I should just rest so I can get better.
I'm pretty sure it was in this thread that I said I'd post the seasoning salt recipe, wasn't it? Or was it chit-chat? Anyway, here it is...it makes a BUNCH, so I usually give it as gifts. My mom used to sell jars of it at the Christmas Bazaar.
2 cups salt
1/4 cup Monosodium Glutamate
1 TBL onion powder OR 3 TBL Onion salt
2 TBL pepper
1 tsp nutmeg
1 TBL Celery salt
1/4 cup paprika
1 TBL oregano, thyme, or basil crushed in palm of hand (I use all 3)
1 TBL chilli powder
Mix all ingredients and keep in covered container.
Some ideas for use: French bread with a bit of olive oil and sprinkle of seasoning salt, baked in oven until crisp and golden brown edges.
Zucchini or squash, either steamed or fried, sprinkled with seasoning salt.
Use on burgers or BLTs. I don't like mayo or tomato, so I make BLT's with toast and use the seasoning salt and leave the tomato off, but I don't do this very often as it's not the healthiest, but about once a year I get a craving for one.
