Happy Friday, everyone!

I am checking in with the "strength" practice from Ultimate Yogi. I bought a very expensive yoga mat a few months ago and I am slipping and sliding all over it. It's preventing me from going deeper into the poses. I think I am going to have to break down and buy an equally expensive mat towel for it. Boo.

I am eagerly awaiting some Spring temps and I just noticed yesterday it was still sunny at 5:30 PM. The clock changes this weekend, too. Doubleplusgood! ;)
What do you have now? AND... Did you give it the course salt treatment? Many of these mats come with a coating that need to be wash off. Once it's off you will stick like glue. I own both Manduka and I have a jade travel mat. They are both great but the Manduka rocks. Thick (great for the knees) and non stick! I have it 4 years and its still going strong. The jade travel is awesome but thin great for travel stinks on the knees!

Try the salt first! Save some money!

I have a Manduka Black Mat Pro. I got it a few months ago and I wash it with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water (then I wipe it down with water) after every practice. I want to do the salt rub, but it I have the 85 inch mat (I am tall.), so it's too big to clean indoors. I am just anticipating that first 60 and sunny day, so I can take it outdoors, scrub it to death, and let it sun dry. :)

I love it other than the slipping in downward facing down and sliding out of crescent pose. I am surprised that I am slipping so much. I do sweat a lot, but it never reaches the mat, since I wear tech fabrics.

I hope the salt works, because I don't want to have to spend $50 on a towel. The stinking mat was $108 (that magic number)!

Hope you are feeling better!

Figgy you are great! Enjoy the Sun:)

I am feeling better today but, honoring the body!

I am off to do my nieces hair for church (their Mom and Dad are away and Grams "can't do hair") then to the yoga studio. I will have a great class with Sal and then teach 2. I hope to get in the sun a little. I am in need of a little "sexy"! :D

My exercise today will be walking through airport security lines and concourses, and lifting my carry on bag repeatedly! :)

Sad to leave the Florida weather behind, but especially sad to be leaving the sight of flowers in bloom.

Morning.

I am jealous of the people here who are getting warm weather and some sunshine. It's been raining here since about 1 AM. How do I know? Because my son came down with Norovirus at 10 PM and he was up all night with the attendant symptoms. His bedroom is across from the hall from ours and I kept the doors open so I could hear him if he needed help. I am pretty sure the virus has begun replication in my body and will reach critical mass soon. Did I mention I am emetophobic? LOL

Last night, I did a practice called "Balance." Tonight I have "Yin" on tap, if I haven't succumbed to the beasties by then. :(

I hope you have a safe journey home! Just think, flowers will be in bloom everywhere very soon and spring weather is just around the corner.

I hope your son recovers quickly, @Sans Souci, and that you are able to avoid getting sick yourself.

Found out today that Disney Cruise Line offers yoga classes, so I'll be planning on attending at least one on my September cruise, if I can't find anything local before then.
