Wonders of Life to close?

Call me crazy....

but i am a BIG Body Wars fan! It was always my favorite thing at Epcot (before TT and M;S) and i would hate to see the pavillion sit there while Disney has no idea what they're going to do with it. If they're going to close it, tear it, and build a new ride there- then fine....but untill then, keep it open FULL time and let us experience one of my favorite rides!:)

WoL is a laughing stock of a place. It sucks, period. I mean, I hate that place. The CMs have no morale (plus they have to wear those god awful costumes) and the only semi-good ride is Cranium Command. Frankly, why couldn't they just wait a few years till MetLife pulled out, tore this down and build M:S here and kept Horizons? Huh, Disney, HUH?!?!?

can you say "Exxageration"?

I'm sorry but there are alot more than 30 people there every time i visit. Its not packed in the sence that Test Track and Mission:Space are- but i don't see Carosel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, or Timekeeper pulling in huge numbers either- or they wouldnt be seasonal!

And i might also add that Horizons never had anybody at it either before it closed and you people are all crying about it being gone:hammer:

but the thing is they are some what interesting, and no 30 is not an exageration, I've been in there and there were so few people I could count them on one hand

I'm not, I'm actually very glad it is gone, it was another waste of space

The idea of a life/health pavillion is a good one. If WoL is changed, I hope they stick with the idea of a pavillion dedicated to the human body. When I was little, I LOVED the interactive areas of WoL...especially those bikes. I already said that I love CC, but I also like BW. I'm a biology major, and the first time I rode BW after having had some introductory biology courses in college (much more in-depth than any high school stuff), I was amazed at how much you can learn by just paying attention to the film. The pavillion needs an update, but it's still an idea worthy of an interesting area.

All i'm saying is- wait until you have a plan before letting it die. If they had a big plan to put Storm Riders there- then good, put it there and gut WoL. But i am one who believes no rides should be "seasonal". They should be open to all guests anytime they visit. It's supposed to be a 365 day theme park!

PS: Horizons was truely the most boring thing i was ever on- i really don't understand how in the world people found it "enjoyable"

It's kind of shocking to see this reaction on these boards. I mean, people here still moan about Mr. Toad's WildRide Being gone, and that was as close to a tacky traveling carnival ride as you can get at WDW. It's amazing how much animosity there is towards WoL from the die hards here. I wonder what the general public thinks.

Maybe it is just costing Disney too much to run for what it is worth and to save some money they are going to do this

The general public hates it, believe me

Then admission should be lowered during the off season iff rides are going to be closed because they were smart and choose to come during the "non-peak" time.

Well actually admission should just be lowered for Epcot all year, it is certainly not worth $55

The problem i have is that they're getting away from what Epcot is/was supposed to be when it opened. It had how ever many pavillions all on different things. In the last 5 years, two are gone, now looking at a thrid, and possibly fourth (TLS). In my opinon, all the original pavilions should have been kept but updated. Add Storm riders to a pavillion etc. instead of tearing them all down and builgind essentially a thrill park.

But thats the thing, more and more people want thrills over an education on a vacation, and after many years Disney is finally starting to get that, and I'll bet over the next 10 years you will see a ton more "thrill" rides put in!!!

EPCOT has the most value for money out of all of the parks. Think about how MUCH there is...that knowledge to soak up. The cultural exposure. The different varieties of entertainment. There's nothing else on earth like it. Not necessarily "magic" - even though there is a bit! - but in what culture is absorbed...wow.

Value isn't measured in temporary pleasure.

EPCOT is still strong. Let's keep it that way and learn from other failures...and lets make Wonders of Life even better than it was when it opened.

Michael, not all of the public wants thrill rides. A good portion, especially your age, does. The latest attractions have catered to these views.

The goal should never be thrills. It should be balanced.

EPCOT is not a thrill park. It will never be. If you don't like it, don't go. Remember EPCOT is the second most popular theme park in the U.S. Don't ruin it for us. There are plenty of thrills over at IOA. Have a blast.

Disney knew what it was doing in 1982. And the vision will out.

And that is why Epcot will never be on all of peoples to do list
