uh, well I had been there many times before HHN was moved and it was always packed

I've been many times and it was never packed, but that means nothing. Look at the size of EPCOT for one thing, then look at statistical facts. Well... goodnght, I'm too tired to argue properly tonight. But I'm right, so that's good enough.

(I'm just messing around, but WoL should go)

Read my earlier message though, that's more important.

I love thrill rides and non-thrill rides. From the first time I went to Epcot, when I was 5, I loved the place - and I still do. There is so much to do. Slow rides like SSE, Horizons, and WoM present so many visuals. Each time I went on, I was able to see something new. Even now, after 15 years, I still see new stuff on SSE. My dad and I would always comment about the AA sleeping at his desk. "He's still sleeping." :snore:

Obviously, I remember my first visit to IOA (2001) much more clearly than my first visit to Epcot (1988). I like IOA, although there is less for me to do there since I became to fat for the roller coasters. I remember riding Hulk and Dueling Dragons, but my memory is basically just a shaky, high-speed, blur. My memories of SSE, PotC, or HM are filled with clearly detailed images and sounds, and even smells.

But I dare you to find another park as unique as Epcot anywhere. The different pavilions, the mini UN, a huge sphere - it's great! The thing about Epcot is that it's just not particularly attractive to some people. Some people just like thrills more, and thrill parks certainly have their place. At Disney you don't just pay for the thrills, you also pay for the theming.

My parents mention every vacation how they thought on our first trip to Epcot it was a bad theme park because it did not have rides and me and my sis wanted to go back to MK.

But on our second trip, even with mme and my sis about 7 and 8, we loved it for the unique rides concerning learning and detail and for the best part--the countries!!!

Epcot is a great park, my parents favorite, and there is always a fun time had. It's a shame that Wonders of lIfe pavilion may be going down, but it is also a shame that it is not as current as some of the other pavilions, and needs some newer life injected into it.

I love thrill rides, but when I go to Orlando, IOA is never on my list of things-to-do. The park has never appealed to me the way the Disney ones do, and I include EPCOT in that.

HISTA did not come along until just a few short years ago, and for me, it ain't all that. It is definitely not a must-see attraction. There are other attractions in the park which are much more interesting.

EPCOT may not be my favorite park, but I definitely would not want to see it all thrills, or even mostly thrills. It is the slow-moving dark rides filled with AA that make the Disney experience for me. I love SSE, the original JII, and Living with the Land. I still enjoy BW (apparently I am one of those 30 weirdos), and CC cracks me up every time I see it. I remember when WoL first opened and was packed throughout the day...I remember when BW was THE ride at EPCOT, and I can remember rushing from the gate to get there early and get a spot to ride first thing in the morning. I agree that the pavillion has been neglected recently and desperately needs a rehab (and possibly new attractions), but I don't think they necessarily have to be thrill rides, or even rides at all. Keep WoL interactive, let the whole family enjoy the pavillion. That's why EPCOT was built...the pavillions which showcased special areas of our world. We've got Space, we've got Land, we've got Sea, we've got Automotives, we've got Imagination...why shouldn't Health/Life Science fit in too?

Bye wonders

Im sorry to do this but i must bring the thread back to the original topic at hand as well as down to a more serious note. I am a cast member at this pavilion and although i have had my differences with it i was saddened by the news.I have run the attractions, seeing Cranium Command over 400 times( 10-20 times daily, if not more), yelled out the times for Making of me numerous times, and helped the steady stream of guests asking where is the bathroom. After saying this i only recieved the news about wonders closing this morning when i came into work and boy was it depressing. Although the Wonders of Life Building was my home for only a few short months, the cast there became a second family, they have invited me to Thanksgiving Dinners because i couldnt go home, they have helped me whenever i have needed it and still do today. When i came into work this morning i realized that due to a previous engagement i have, this would be my last day working at the wonders of life. sure Body wars needs this and cranium that, but how many of you can remember fond memories of riding the bikes, hearing the Hanz and Franz say "Captian we are armed and pumping", or knowing that something would go wrong as you enter the body where a splinter lies. This was my home a place where i could have fun, mingle with the guests and make sure they were having fun and i know i will sorely miss it. So if you wanna keep saying what would go good there or be better gone just make sure you remember what was there and the memories that i know we have all gained over the years. Have a good last month Wonders, ill miss you.

Well actually admission should just be lowered for Epcot all year, it is certainly not worth $55

But thats the thing, more and more people want thrills over an education on a vacation, and after many years Disney is finally starting to get that, and I'll bet over the next 10 years you will see a ton more "thrill" rides put in!!!

The voice of reason has spoken! :sohappy:

Funny how you're all for thrill rides but hate Body Wars. It IS a thrill ride, only it's a 10 year old one. You want the parks to be totally revamped from scratch every 10 years?

By the way, the Disney park you're looking for is already up and running! It's called Six Flags!

You never cease to amuse me, MKC.

I needed that this morning. :D

I suppose that should be reason enough for stuff to never TRULY go away... I mean, an attraction like Crannium Command, that has a host of actors who in the majority are not doing that kind of work anymore should be kept simply for it's nostalgia. That's why Disney should seriously consider releasing attraction DVDs. It's the only way for people to keep their memories, and then Disney can go and pull another Test Track whenever they want.

Epcot is no longer EPCOT Center, and it'll soon be one less park for my family to visit at WDW.

For what it's worth, we've done 10 trips to WDW and have done this pavillion only once. This wasn't even on our radar on being visited on our next trip. This place has never clicked for our family. That being said, Epcot is my personal favorite place to go during our trips, not the WOL pavillion...

Compare this to the lamentation of Horizons, Mr. Toad and World of Motion... Few people would be utterly devestated if Wonders of Life was replaced. Too bad that they couldn't have removed this one instead of one of the true classics.

Does anyone disagree? I'm curious.

The last time I was at the Wonders Of Life pavilion and saw the Cranium Command pre-show, I noticed how old the film, itself, was. It wasn't so much the cartoon, but the way the film looked warn out. The sound was fluctuating in and out. Definitely an old and tired attraction. It would be cool, if maybe they put some sort of indoor rollercoaster ride in there. I think someone on here said they should put Time Racers in there? Hmmm.. there's a thought! It'd be ashame to get rid of a timely classic like Spaceship Earth. But WOL, well, ummm....errr... BALL AND CHAIN, PLEASE!!!!

I do have to say that the music they played inside the Wonders Of Life pavilion was pretty cool. Does anyone know the name of the song (or songs)?

Love the area music. Brent--have you ever seen Cranium Command? That's a good one.

1. Cirque Du Soliel Overture
2. Leapfrog
3. Carousel
4. Looking Glass
5. Icarus
6. Summer Shuffle
7. Wild Kids
8. Behind The Waterfall

9. Biomass
10. Grasslands
11. Forgotten Yesterdays
12. Celestial Soda Pop
13. Hide And Seek
14. Sundial
15. The Oh of Pleasure

The ones in BOLD = the ones that strike out to be the most memorable from WOL. :)

Well ya all see, times change and so do the rides, yes it might be sad, but we have no control over what happens. Well change that, if the attraction was exciting and drew some people then they wouldn't tear it down

Oh, gosh darn it! Just as Wonders of Life was beginning to approach its 15th Anniversary. Wonders of Life was one of my favorite pavillions. I'd do everything there willingly.

I wouldn't mind an overhaul of WoL. I never find the place that interesting, but even so I end up going in there each trip. Go figure...that's the life of a Disney fan. I think the two best things are Cranium Command and actually finding the hidden mickey in the Body Wars Mural.
