With Buzzy's strange story, where's Walt Disney's plane?

If somebody has to go through an effort to enter a restricted area, the owner is not liable. It's the same if you have a fence around a swimming pool (private, not at a resort intended for access), as long as the gate is latched, you will not be responsible if someone (or some child) opens the gate without authorization and drowns.
It’s not nearly that simple

I hadn't heard about Walt's plane being moved to AK area. I think it's strange that they would move that plane much at all considering the amount of resources it would take to move it, and the possibility of accidental damage to it while moving.

And, it's weird watching that video and seeing the inside of what used to be Walt's plane completely gutted. It's just a little weird seeing something that used to mean so much to TWDO in such a state.

I don’t think they did move it much at all. It’s not that far from HS.

They really didn't have much of a choice, where it was sitting is now becoming Galaxy's Edge. There is no place backstage at DHS big enough to hold it so they moved it to another backstage area not to far away.

Well theres always Dogpatch usa. Its up for debate who you believe and if he had a right to be there or not but.....
In 2005, 17-year-old Pruett Nance was driving an ATV through the property. Nance said he had permission from the owners to tour the property. While riding, Nance collided with a length of wire strung between two trees, and was severely injured and nearly decapitated. The question of whether or not the wire was put there maliciously, to dissuade vandalism, became the subject of a lawsuit the Nances filed against the park's owners. The suit eventually ended up in the Arkansas Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of Nance who was awarded $100,000 in compensatory damages and $150,000 in punitive damages, and his father, Stewart Nance, was awarded $400,000 in compensatory damages, for medical bills.[85] When the park owners did not pay the judgment, the deed to Dogpatch was awarded to Pruett Nance, who became the new owner of the park.

Agreed, but then again you give current Disney mgmt too much credit by assuming they care. They aren’t making money off of it right this minute so they don’t care. Their corporate mentality doesn’t allow them to think in terms of aesthetics and preservation. Sickening I know, but that’s the losers that are in there now. They can’t even allow for routine maintenance in the parks bc they can’t see how it gives an immediate return on the bottom line.

The tail did get a pretty nice ding during the move (rumors feared it to be worse).

I’m not quite sure why this aircraft still exists. Should have been flown to a scraper in the Mojave instead of to Florida. This frame should be trucked up to the scrapper at Sanford.
If someone wants to have a display of it, build a fiberglass fuselage, wings, vert and horiz stabilizers, paint the exterior, furnish the interior and sit it on a pedestal somewhere. Maybe Disney Springs since it has an aviation backstory.

Should be very fixable. Plus it is not like this airplane would fly again so does not even need to be a proper repair vs museum grade repair. (likely will not even be that level at this rate)

I think it will sit there for a good long while and then be repaired and displayed somewhere. This is assuming someone doesn’t steal it haha.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they mounted it on poles or had it hanging from rafters somewhere. Then all you need is the outside painted. Knowing them they might even weld the door closed. I still dont understand the new paint job. Most people know it in the blue and white paint job. But when did it get that paint job? Was it orange and white when walt was alive? Was it orange and white during the florida project? If so maybe its a sign. After star wars is done, maybe a walt museum or a bigger one mans dream with a wing dedicated to the Florida project??

Disney Springs is the perfect place to put it. It shouldn’t be scrapped because it’s history.

The paint you see now is the original paint job. The blue and white was a wrap around the body of the plane that they’ve removed.

" The paint scheme that you see now [when it was on the backlot tour] is how the plane looked in its final years of operation. When the 1980s began, the plane had a wide orange stripe along the windows, a small orange circle with a Mickey Mouse head on the tail, and no company name or theme park name. At the time that Walt used the plane, it probably looked like any other plane, with no distinct Disney markings or artwork, but I haven’t found any photos of the plane from that time. As I mentioned earlier, that plane didn’t even have MM as part of the tail number when Walt used it."

Are you sure about it being a wrap...

No wrap, she’s been repainted back to her original scheme. Remember, she was in blue when she landed In 92. The storage area is not public, and I expect that door is locked now with camera surveillance.

Pretty sure considering the colors are aged with big stripes on it throughout that would indicate where strips were pulled off.

It could fly with that wrap on. Jets apply that for promotions.

articos is a pretty reliable source, and the quote from the article on yesterday land also indicates that it was paint.
