I thought the show was great. Can't wait to see it in person. Unfortunately this looks so amazing the "special" party fireworks for MNSSHP and MVMCP are going to look quaint by comparison even with the perimeters.
One thing I had a chuckle while rewatching.. During the pan and scan of the entire Hub of MK there was only one person wearing a Made with Magic/Glow with the show pair of ears..Wondering if they did sync to the show or drop this idea entirely?

I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here, but, here goes.
The visuals, combined with the music that was used, was definitely impressive. If you base HEA solely on that, it's definitely a win.
Having said that-did this show immediately give me that emotional connection that I had with Wishes? Nope. Now, having seen it just once, and not in person, I can't pass full judgement on that aspect until about 9:30 pm on October 30 of this year TBH, I don't think HEA will ever measure up to Wishes in that way for me, as the first time I saw Wishes was the night I first went to WDW with my DD, and that is a memory that will always be attached to it. Overall, this may be a "wait and see" for me.
Just watched it. Incredible. Love that Hunchback gets a whole scene. Biggest, worrisome omition? All golden era films and songs. Nothing from Snow White, Pinocchio, dumbo, Bambi, Alice... very odd. I think the show should have ended with when you wish upon a star because really, what more do you want from Disney than to hear that song in a grand way. Thematically doesn't fit I suppose, but man, nothing from the old movies was represented that I saw.
While not in music, some of the 'classic' characters I saw include Snow White, Dopey, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Baloo, Peter Pan. I'm sure there were more but I've only seen the show once so far.
Sorry if I missed this upthread somewhere, but does anyone have a read on how this looks from outside the park (i.e., Cali Grill deck, Poly beach)? My big concern is that even with a marked increase in pyro volume, missing out on the castle projection show significantly limits the impact of the experience, which wasn't a concern when viewing Wishes from afar.

Are they going to make holiday versions of Happily Ever After?

In my, perhaps wrong, opinion..: I tend to think that Walt, inventor of the multi-plane camera, would love projection shows.Wonderful show. I makes me wonder if Disneyland CA will consider modifying its castle - ala Hong Kong - to allow for a new canvas for projection mapping shows such as Happily Ever After. Or would modifying the DL castle be off-limits due to it being Walt's original?
Yeah I think I agree with ya. I still think some of the OLD Disney could have been represented in the music. It's my only gripe. The show is fantastic and it did use renaissance era songs wonderfully.Considering Wishes' finale was a grand version of that song, using it in Happily Ever After would be boring and predictable. Glad they tossed it to the side.

Yeah. Tink got a costume upgrade.
