I get that the testing was loud but come on people... First off you know the area you live in, second this is rare thing at that time of night, and third there is no perfect time for them to test. They can not test when, most guests, are around or in the area.

Everyone wants this show to be amazing with a lot of pyro, So the complaining about testing and noise is a bit ridiculous.
1:30am is the best time to test loud fireworks?

I'm sorry but I don't think they planned it well. There are thousands of people that live nearby that are sleeping. They could've had them done before midnight to be considerate of their neighbors.

Those people are well aware of where they live and chances are Disney, being almost 46 years old, has been there longer.

People and children have to get up early. It doesn't matter where you live. A company such as Disney should be considerate of their surroundings. I can understand lighting, projections and sound testing in the middle of the night but launching fireworks at 1:30am on a weeknight is out of the question. Even their after hours parties launch them no latter than 11pm except for NYE when it's at midnight and that's expected.

Once again, they are aware of who they live next to. They made that choice when they moved there.

2 1/2 miles away from Disney property isn't living "next to them." You can hear Disney fireworks from 6 miles away. Like I said before, people know their firework patters but this was out of the ordinary.

Obviously you don't understand the area here. Disney isn't the be-all-end-all to everyone that lives in that 6 mile radious. People are just saying they should be more considerate and test the fireworks earlier.

Are you people kidding me? I mean seriously?

This is the first new fireworks show requiring substantial pyro testing in FOURTEEN YEARS. I think letting Disney do after hours pyro tests during four nights out of 5,110+ days isn't too much to ask – no matter where you live. Good grief. If your sleep is briefly interrupted on those rare four nights, if you live nearby, I have a good feeling your world will not end and you will surivive.

And let's be honest - you're the same group of people that'd complain if they closed the park early at 6PM like Disneyland does to do the tests, saying it's not fair to the people who scheduled their vacations so far in advance, etc.

Resort guests are notified. Could they maybe make surrounding areas aware too? Sure. The only argument you have is them starting 30 minutes late - which is far from inexcusable given the magnitude of this show. As far as the media goes, it's just another pathetic attempt to demonize Disney - and by far the most embarrassing one yet. Has Disney deserved some bad press for certain things lately? Absolutely. But rare, necessary pyro testing isn't one of them.

Honestly some of the most ridiculous stuff I've read on here in a while – and that's saying something.

It did wake me up. I got excited because I thought it was thunder (since we are in a drought). But after checking my radar app and seeing that the closest lightning strike was 600 miles away I knew it was Disney.
isnt it raining like hurricane now?
my boss who lives in tampa said there was a deluge recently.

Dont they usually start reducing the pyro amounts as they continue testing? I remember the differences between pyro on the shows for Shangai.
Shanghai's pyro reduction had more to do with strict pollution regulations in China. With just a week before the show's opening, I think these tests are more focused on timing and visuals than reducing elements.

I didn't see this one the news, and I did not know people were even complaining about it. I also live about 2.5 miles from the castle, and I think Disney has more than earned the right to test fireworks at 1:30. Is it ideal? Maybe it's not. Are they the end all and be all? No, they are not. They made this area whether we like them or not. All of us who live here benefit from the proximity to Disney in one way or another. I could list plenty of ways they have and do benefit most everyone in the area, and I could also list plenty of issues that are much more pressing in the area as well.

As a general rule people need to do a little less complaining and whining. The fireworks may have awakened some of the people who live on Reams Road, but I don't see how it awakened and ruined the night of that many people. If this was every night, then I think people might have a valid complaint.

Don't take anyone who lives behind MAGIC KINGDOM and complains about fireworks seriously. Talk about a pathetic first world problem :hilarious: "Poor me, I couldn't get my beauty sleep because EVIL Disney was testing a fireworks show late at night. Woe is me"
Where does that leave people who post on Disney World boards complaining about people complaining about fireworks?

Under normal circumstances it's expected. We hear them every single night. But we also know that Disney has been extremely accommodating and respectful to their neighbors by ending their fireworks around midnight at the latest (New Years Eve). So launching a loud barrage of booms at 1:30am on a weeknight is out of the ordinary for them. As I said earlier, they could've easily closed the park around 9pm and had the testing done by midnight.

I'd also like to include that most of the people who complained, who live in the area, actually work for Disney.
