The Aulani points chart is brutally expensive in the summer, and it's also just about impossible to find availability. We were thinking of going to Aluani next summer with our points.
We have been lucky all 3 are paid off (just finished out last one 2 days ago, we broke even on all 3 resorts about 1.5 years into it and we use our Disney Chase card to pay our yearly annual dues for each resort so our out of pocket is zero to stay. So as long as we use our Disney card the rewards add up typically we could pay our annual dues and pay for 3 or 4 of our trips meal plans using the left over rewards.I do not think that is completely accurate that your stays are FREE, last I checked DVC is not FREE, there were A LOT of upfront and yearly costs unless something has changed
Congrats!!!!We have been lucky all 3 are paid off (just finished out last one 2 days ago, we broke even on all 3 resorts about 1.5 years into it and we use our Disney Chase card to pay our yearly annual dues for each resort so out out of pocket is zero to stay. That's what is great about the value in Universal right now, that $600 Express Pass is included in a $400 room and it is included for everyone in the room, so going by your numbers that is a $2400 add on for free by staying at Universal Deluxe Room
But why would you ever stay at Cabana Bay and pay $600 more per person? When you could stay at one of the deluxe resorts for $400/night with the express pass included? IF YOU WERE INTERESTED IN THE EXPRESS PASSNo what I was saying, is that if you were staying a Cabana Bay, you would need to pay an extra $600.00 for your Express Pass.
Oops.We were talking about discount after October 1st, not current![]()
You are making a mistake! Waldorf or Hilton is nothing compared to GF. No magic! Not worth the money saved. I know because I've stayed there.NOPE 25 years GF annual. DONE--- Waldorf or Hilton now if we go--. Genie +, rack rates, extra charges, No FP.
GF is a shell of what it used to be. The rooms are just as tired as the Waldorf but the price of Waldorf is usually much less (even with the resort fee). The walkway is nice but the perk of the monorail negates itself as it always seems to be down these days. Tried to hop on the monorail during my trip last week and it was down every time. You are making a mistake! Waldorf or Hilton is nothing compared to GF. No magic! Not worth the money saved. And the path/boat from the RP avoids most of CW.Actually you can if you stay at HR or Portofino![]()
Some discounts are still available -- the military discount, for example...They used to be, no discounts any longer as of now
I would not count those as they are not available to most people, but technically, you are correctSome discounts are still available -- the military discount, for example...
Yes, I will continue to stay on site mainly for the transportation. I'm from the UK and am not confident enough to drive in the US. I did a split stay with Universal in 2019 but truth is I just prefer Disney.
I am annoyed that ME has ended, but it seems that some UK holiday companies - virgin and tui - are now offering transfers as an option to car hire.
