Different look, yes. But none of us know the floor plan yet.
They may be similar or not. We do know there is some sort of fireplace in the new cabins.
The entire structure is different. Not just styling. The cabins are much wider. The fireplace looks neat. I did see the chimneys on most of them.

Wonder if they will do a different style of Gator management over here vs. what is on the beaches at Poly/GF.

The bungalows didn't need anything since they are above water, but notice the temporary black fence in the photo.

I'm sure there will be a permanent one.

When did Roaring Fork close? I know the exterior patio area was closed for remodeling, but the quick service restaurant itself was open, or at least it was in December.

I don't believe it's closed yet. I believe it closes and the new bar and grill opens around Valentines Day.

My apologies if this has been mentioned throughout this thread somewhere. My mom went to WL today and was told by a CM that some of the main building rooms are going to be turned into DVC, what I would assume would be studios. Is this true? Has this been confirmed or just rumor?

The entire wing starting with all the rooms above the main check in desk all the way out to the Trout Pass pool bar are being converted to DVC, if I'm correct in what I was told. Massive change.

Unless the fireplace is in a bedroom, which I guess could be a possibility, then I think the floor plans would be different. They are definitely wide enough to have a bedroom facing the lake, the same as the bungalows do..so I would think the master would be placed there.
Hopefully the ceilings are vaulted.

Yes, it's true. The entire East wing (one nearest the existing villas building) will be new DVC studios...and a new DVC resort. To open this summer, if I remember correctly.

I wish that they would incorporate some of the details from the newly opened Camp Woodchuck at Tokyo Disneyland. It would fit perfectly with the Lodge. http://tdrexplorer.com/100-photos-of-the-beautiful-camp-woodchuck/

I wish they'd release drawings of what the finished cabins will look like. Hard to tell from just framing and a roof. But I'm excited about the new cabins. Just ticked that as an owner at WLV, these will be a new Resort, along with the converted rooms in the East Wing. Just hope they give us owners at WL a discount when sales start.

Those things look huge. Could they be 3 bedrooms, since Boulder Creek doesn't have any Grand villas?
Very strong rumor that the GVs will be in the converted area in the main building and these cabins will be more akin to 2 br units.

However much I'd love these to be lockoffs so that the point-poor folk, such as I might have a chance at ever renting part of one, I doubt the layout will allow for it.

I was told they'd be studios. WL needs more DVC inventory - and adding more studios and one bedrooms (with two bedroom lockoff capability) make more sense, inventory wise. Make the cabins the 3 bedrooms. Disney made a big mistake, inventory wise, not having any one bedrooms at Poly.

Per the same rumors there should also be lock-off 2br units in the main building conversion in addition to the GVs. While fun to speculate what may be, I wish Disney would just release the floor plans already.
