Wilderness Lodge DVC additions - Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

In other Wilderness Lodge news, its being reported that guests arriving in February are being emailed to inform them that Roaring Fork quick service will be closed and the new Geyser Point bar and grill will be open instead. Seems like the new bar and grill is going to be finished quicker than expected.

I saw the news on Humphrey's Wilderness Lodge Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Unofficial...7.1073741829.504715403012367/785439954939909/

No it no longer was like Hidden Spings when they decided to tear up that whole area down to the dirt and built those horrible waterfront cottages that will forever ruin what used to be Wilderness Lodge Villas. So you would think they would go all out and actually give the DVC members something good to replace it. Instead what we get is a glorified tanning bed of a pool. And now that they redid it they must have those new fences that lock and I'm sure the pool will close at 7 or 8PM and only open at 9AM. So they are taking away from us not giving back.

Give me a break. Disney hasn't released detailed drawings of the cabins, so to call them horrible is a little premature.

I'm looking forward to trying the new eatery this fall. Hopefully Roaring Fork will be back open by then, too, so the lines will be reasonable everywhere.

I won't give you a break because you totally missed the point. It doesn't matter how nice they are. They don't belong there. It ruins what was a very peaceful quiet area and you could look out over the water. Now you will be staring at a cabin.

OMG, I can't believe the whiners on this thread. The new pool looks very nice - bigger than the old Hidden Springs. And the cabins, along with the conversion of cash rooms to DVC studios is another improvement. WL is one of the smallest DVC resorts...and one of the most popular. So it makes sense to add additional capacity. Especially if occupancy in the Lodge was below norms.
Um... you're whining about whiners? LOL!

Got news for all of you complaining about the removal of vegetation to construct the cabins and redo the pool. How do you think the Lodge was built in the first place? The property was cleared for construction and then replanted. Those trees grow fast.
How is this news? Yes, of course it was cleared for construction. It took many years for those trees to grow back, and Disney had to specifically plant many of them. As of right now we still have no idea what or where the new plants will be. I have my fingers crossed for a multitude of tall pines around the pool and between the cabins and main structures.

Other than the framing reflected in @Katie G's photo, none of us know exactly what the cabins will look like once completed. Not even DVC sales staff have been given that info.
There are many photos that have been taken of the cabins on the other side of the lodge that are further along. They're ... interesting. I can't call them ugly, but they're certainly not what I had hoped they'd be (little log cabins)

So instead of complaining about a bloody pool and some trees, let's wait until the cabins are completed and the mock-up at the new sales office is ready.
Most of the complaining was done quite some time back. From what I've been reading folk are now resigned to the changes happening and are trying to be optimistic. Or maybe I was on another thread.

Prior to Disney removing trees to construction the cabins and renovated the pool, your view from that side of the villas was a pool and Bay Lake through trees. Once everything is completed, you will still have a view of the Lake, the pool and now cabins...that hopefully will thematically fit with the villas.

Remember, those trees that everyone complained about being removed also blocked the view of the Lake....

Like I said in a previous post, y'all need to stop whining and wait until everything is completed.....

Stand in the bathroom and gaze at the sink with the water running.

Not everyone is whining about those trees being removed. I miss the trees...but my husband...loves it without the trees and hopes they don't get replaced. So I would assume plenty of other WL guests feel the same way. People are going to complain if the trees go back and people are going to complain if the trees never come back. No win on this one.

Hi guys! I was going they my photos and found the ones from the new cabins. They look nice!
I think the fireplace is a neat and potentially very popular feature.

The cabins and the lodge will definitely blend well together.
