Why is Stitch's Great Escape still there?

Well maybe I don't go to parties that much but people do like me at parties. But this show sounds like it leaves guests smelly, uncomfortable, I did not even mention damp and also, kind of told they are incompetent (the recruits let stitch escape so up go the restraints and they leave) How is that entertaining? Where is the dark humor there?

And what is it with Disney and bad odors? I am thinking about Journey Into Imagination with Figment when he lets out gas. It's not that bad, but why is that part of the story? Also, ironically, Animal Kingdom smells better than the Pittsburgh Zoo so they make an effort to not have guests smell a zoo.
No one leaves smelly and damp. They don't dump water on you, it's a light sprinkle like in HISTA and The Muppets and ITTBAB. Apparently you haven't been to Imagination either...It's a supposed skunk smell. No one leaves smelling bad from that either. It's all done in fun and if you allowed your inner child to go on the trip with you... you would know that.

Just so you know... I'm done responding. Come back and see me after you have actually experienced it. You won't like it any better because you have already convinced yourself that you hate it, but, at least you will be speaking from a point of experience and not hearsay.

Reading this entire thread is like watching a sumo wrestler with mittens on trying to put the toothpaste he squeezed out back into the tube.

Actually, I went on Imagination twice. I think Figment is kind of entertaining. The odor is not that bad but is it necessary in the first place? Also ITTBAB was pretty intense, more so than I thought it would be and had to take the glasses off (then everything is double vision). So I did experience those 2. You must like Stitch a lot don't you? But its not Stitch that is bad, its the odors and the discomfort.

I know I should stop responding, but I'm still perplexed how some knows for a fact how uncomfortable the restraints are and how bad the smell is without ever stepping foot in the door.

But hey, to each his own. I guess the bottom line is that you do seem to enjoy other parts WDW and in the end that's all that matters.

I just hope you don't base all the attractions you visit on web reviews.

It does pull in consistently low results in guest polls, but it's filling a hole.

An overhaul or (another) retheme would be nice but I don't think its top of the list. Internally there's still a lot of hate and conflict over the whole AE/SGE fiasco.
I really miss AE. They should just bring it back with warning signs saying the attraction is for mature audience only.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Because replacing it would cost money.

Honestly, though, if properly maintained, it would be a much more tolerable attraction. Currently, the effects are maintained below show quality, the water effect is too heavy and doesn't drain from vacant seats correctly, the chambers aren't ventilated enough to get rid of the stench, and the seats harnesses aren't calibrated correctly and put too much pressure on peoples' shoulders. Currently it's smelly, wet, uncomfortable, and just not impressive.

The first one had poor script and wasn't scary enough.

SGE came for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
They could have moved it to HS, where it would have fit in along side TZToT. Of course, they would have had to do some outside theming to justify its existence inside a studio-themed park.

They wouldn't have paid. The AE overlay alone of Mission to Mars cost $35m.

Hey Bob, save yourself some cash and just youtube all the rides at Disney and you will be all set. You don't need to actually experience them for yourself as evidenced by your posts.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Cause its the bestest thing in a theme park ever, well that and it would cost to replace it, though Im sure some would be able to find a reason that another shuttered attraction made for a great guest experience. Its the magic doncha no

So are you saying I should go to a place a lot of people don't like and smells bad to have an opinion? Actually, I can think of ways to make the "attraction" a lot less obnoxious and still entertaining so why can't the imagineers? And why do I have to criticized when talking about an attraction. Maybe it would have been better if I asked "is it really that bad?" But when I would ask that the answer is "yes, its that bad!"

Some ways to improve the attraction might be to go back to the original 1971 seating without the restraints, lose the odors, perhaps have a "spit" effect that comes back as in the movie, maybe not have as much darkness, you could still have the sound effects from different speakers and at worst, it would be maybe a "lame" time filler attraction but would not be obnoxious. By the way, I like the music that goes with SGE, too bad the rest of the attraction is not the greatest. These steps might not be so expensive but what do I know, seems like a lot of people criticize me over an show at an amusement park

You can formulate your opinion any way you like Bob but it will hold more weight if you actually experience the ride for yourself. Until then it is just third person and not your own impression of the ride. The ride doesn't smell, only Stitch's burp does. The restraints are not painful and the spritz of water is no worse than Muppets, Bugs or the many other ride/shows that do the same thing. If you post an opinion about something you have not even tried you have to expect forum criticism. That is how discussion boards work. Is it a great ride? No. But at least I can give you my first hand impressions from riding it several times. My kids like it but will not go out of their way for it.

And if you think it's bad now... wait till that installment. Yawn!!! To be honest you sound much more like an accountant at Disney then an Imagineer. No special effects, they offend me. Even though I am basing my offense on someone elses opinion and not my own.
