I understand I could be kicked off......Just got tired of Merf's constant negativity. The message probably should have been PM'd so I didn't upset all the PC folks. The first couple pages were von drake explaining how ressies worked....very interesting stuff and probably factual, whether company oriented or not.

Then jr, aka merf, jumps in, uninvited and mostly unwanted, with his venom. No one had asked, " Hey Merf! What do you think REALLY goes on with reservations!" In that case, go to town! Blast them! You were asked.

But, this apparently being the MERF BOARDS, NO ONE ELSE NEED APPLY,
I shall bow out.

I'm glad this one wasn't yanked. I really enjoyed reading the argument. It was very entertaining.

My two cents - I've never experience upselling when I have called for dining reservations. I have always booked online, but this year, I called to see how I could get the free dining, since we'd be there for 7 days of it, but not the first three days. The CM actually worked really hard to get my reservations changed so I could save $600 without changing my dates or resort! No pressure to change resorts, no upselling. I was very pleased. I hope that's the type of thing that gets incentives! Working hard to make the customer happy!

entertaining.....kinda like reading the Enquirer or watching a train wreck...

Some folks here don't understand that this is a business. While there is an expectation of new E tickets every year, perfectly functioning shows and endless choices for everyone....oh, and cheap enough so that everyone can come whenever they want.....they refuse to recognize that these things need to be paid for.

Threads aren't closed for drift...only when they degenrate into either a pi__ing match or inflammatory comments. Sometimes a thread can be saved by erasing a posting or two.
All things considered, I think the mods here are very tolerant of periodic indescretions.

Unless people start behaving, and I see something posted that pertains to the original topic, rather than presenting arguments about posting styles, this thread will be locked.

Understood?

Thanks for the info and explanation of why we're asked those questions. I know now that instead of feeling proud to press the numbers indicating I've been to WDW more than 5 times and within the past 5 years, if I'm in a hurry, I may want to say I haven't been as often as I have. Thanks for the insight!

And JP, thank you so much for your professionalism. It's wonderful that you are being a positive and respectful representative of the company for which you work. More organizations (even in other fields) would benefit from having employees like you.
