Who has been to Disney Quest?

What can you tell me about Disney Quest? I've read the little blurbs on the Disney site but I'd like some more info or reviews. On our first afternoon of arrival, we aren't doing any actual theme parks. We are planning on going to the resort pool, maybe some looking around at other resorts, and then dinner & shopping in Downtown Disney. Is Disney Quest really worth another $40 per person? We will be 2 adults & 2 teens. Is it interesting or just a glorified 5 level game room? It looks kind of interesting, but I'd hate to drop $160 if it isn't all that great.

Disney Quest for free is a rip off. Paying full price would be akin to highway robbery. I can go into details if you like, but I can think of a million other things to do in WDW and outside of the parks that will be better than Disney Quest.

when it first opened it was pretty cool, but now most of it is out of date, in very bad condition, not relevant and not working lol, havent been bk in 6 or 7 years, but used to go quite a lot when it first opened!:wave:

Yes. My wife and I had a leftover entitlement on an old ticket that we used last summer. The headlining games have graphics on them that would be blown away by the Wii. We were hard pressed to find one of the classic arcade games that did not have something major wrong with it (eg nearly blown out CRTs, controls that don't work, etc) About the only decent games they have there are the Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters and CyberSpace Mountain. The lines of which extend to Terre Haute. Also if your kids are younger, the attractions in DQ have some of the highest height restrictions in all of WDW.

The best thing that could happen to DQ would be a sinkhole opening underneath it and it falling into the 9th level of hell.

wow really? I loved it. A five story arcade is(i think its five stories) is just amazing. I love arcade games and the fact that their is a ton of old arcade games is amazing.

Personally its not above me to play donkey kong all day. But thats just me.

Dont believe all the bad reviews. It might not be real fun for you, but your teens will love it. There is alot of cool stuff in there.

It really depends on what your interested in. Personally - I'm not going to spend money to play video games in Disney World. Some people like it - I know kids enjoy it. If it were free with your ticket then sure check it out - but to be honest, if you're thinking of paying for it... don't.

I'm not knocking it - there are some cool things inside - but not enough to be worth the price you pay to get it. Stay outside, explore the shops and restaurants of Downtown Disney.

If you really want to spend your money in Downtown Disney... check out La Nouba by Cirque De Soliel! Now that's amazing!

Apparently you aren't a fan of 80's arcade games.

I actually love DQ for that reason alone. There are some really good ones. I couldn't care less about the Mighty Ducks thing, or Cyber Space Mountain and whatever. But give me some Moon Patrol, BurgerTime, and Joust and I am THERE.

That, to me, is the only good reason to go to DQ.

I liked DQ a couple years ago when I went and had a watermarks and more ticket. I dont think I would go there again unless I was at WDW for longer than a week and wanted more variety. I might suggest just playing in the arcade at your resort, my husband and I did this one night and had a blast for about an hour and a half. It was cheaper than Disney quest. Also mini golf is fun and cheaper than Disney quest.

I went there maybe about 2 years ago I think it's too expensive.

If it was like 20$ - 25$ I would go more often .

I love arcades but 40$ that I will spend maybe 3 hrs to play and that is too expensive.

I'd also like to add, if you haven't tried it once, give it a shot, it's at least worth doing once. I do not know the quality of it now since it's been since '06 when I last visited the building, but to the best of my knowledge I was able to find something to do to keep me occupied for a good bit of time.

They used to have a Cheesecake factory (don't believe it is anymore) that I found to be quite quaint (not odd-wise). Had great root-beer floats.

Honestly, the $40 entrance is a bit expensive, but it depends on your experience if it is worth the money or not.

If you're not much of an arcade person, it would probably be pretty lame. I get my money's worth (and workout!) with lots of DDR when I go, but I also enjoy the classic games (most were working when I went last year). The 3D pirates game is pretty fun, but it will always have a wait. The other VR stuff was really lame in my opinion. The Aladdin game is what they were previewing in the 90s in Innoventions, and most of them all seem to be about that old from the graphics and play. If they would upgrade the DDR machine to the new one they have at Dave & Busters on I-Drive (DDR X series), I'd probably spend more $$$ to go more often.

I tend to hit D&B's more often thanks to the awesome food offerings, even if the games aren't free. Love those pretzel bites and the teriyaki steak! :slurp:

I visited the Chicago version (now closed) way back in '02. Even then many of the attractions seemed dated. Fun, but not worth the admission price.

If you're a huge arcade fan then it may be great. Otherwise, probably better to spend your time other places.

It's definitely not worth it alone I'd say. It's apart of my AP so that's why I sneak in every now and then, but I wouldn't buy a ticket just to go in there. Years ago I used to enjoy going in there and shooting hoops at the arcade basketball game. It's ok to do now, but it's not 'fun' like it used to be. And ya, it has decreased in appeal and maintenance from when I first went it. I miss the magic mirror.
