Who has been to Disney Quest?

DQ was cool when it opened, but now I think of it as a video game museum. And I mean that in a good way. I think if you go with that in mind, it can still be a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon, but I wouldn't make a special trip there until you've done everything else on property or really love arcade games.

On a side note, anyone know if the maze in the floor downstairs still functions? Edit: Never mind I found my answer. I guess it's been a lot longer than I thought.

I went to DQ back in 04, and it was so outdated and overpriced. Avoid it, not worth paying for. I would liken it to a semi abandoned dave and busters.

We go to Disney quest every trip and enjoy it for a couple of hours, but it is free as part of the UK ultimate tickets... I certainly wouldn't pay to go in there!

There was a maze!? That sounds sweet. Was it good?

I'm a closet fan of Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam
Ha! me too! But that's because I know how to "cheat" to get the highest score on the playing field!

I am actually a huge fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
I would go there pretty much just to play that over and over. Again, it's because I have played it often enough, that I know how to achieve a high score...even when there are only two of us playing.

Something about that place brings out the competitive side of me that never rears it's head unless I'm at a Disney park, it seems (The two Toy Story rides from the parks do it for me as well!) I wonder if it's because ...unlike the many other people who go...I do not have access to better video games. I own a couple of plug and play TV games, and a broken Sega Genesis.

Still, I WOULDN'T PAY $40 to go there! That's insane. The last couple of times I went to DQ was because it was part of a package, or part of the water park ticket upgrade. Essentially an extra bonus thing, and a way to fill a few hours.

I do enjoy many of the other attractions there too...but yeah...I admit the place isn't too shiny these days...there's a definite need to fix the things that don't work, replace the out-dated and outworn...(one of the worst bathrooms in all of Disney! and some pretty bad upkeep in a few key spots)

I do miss the one in Chicago, where I went several times before they closed. At the end there, we could walk on any attraction and replay for hours, as there were zero crowds.

They could probably fix alot of the broken stuff if they put a little money into it. If they would put like 30 grand they could fix everything, bring in some newer games, Maybe install some new vr stuff. It seems like it wouldn't fix alot of the problems you guys are having with it.

I liked DQ a couple years ago when I went and had a watermarks and more ticket. I dont think I would go there again unless I was at WDW for longer than a week and wanted more variety. I might suggest just playing in the arcade at your resort, my husband and I did this one night and had a blast for about an hour and a half. It was cheaper than Disney quest. Also mini golf is fun and cheaper than Disney quest.

I second the nomination for mini golf. It's reasonably priced, and a really fun way to spend an afternoon. My family went to the Winter Summerland Course, but I've heard that Fantasia Gardens (or whatever it's called) is pretty fun too. We didn't have a car, though, and Winter Summerland is easy to get to (just take the Blizzard Beach bus).

Went to DQ back in 2000 and 2001 (I was 19 and 20 then...those were the days ) and had fun with the retro video games. Spent probably 2-3 hours there. My friend was really into video games and he could've spent the whole day there. From what I've read and seen, it's basically the same games but in shabbier condition. And exorbitantly overpriced for the effort. I'll go ahead and agree with the rest of the class here. But definitely consider mini golf for an afternoon instead. My family still talks about how much fun we had (and we're all adults ).

My kids, ages 10 & 14 at the time of our trip last Sept, loved it. I enjoyed CyberSpace Mountain but I didn't really do much else. My DH liked playing the arcade games, too. It is pricey so the only way we'll go is with the Water Parks & More option.

If you'd like to see what a world-class cutting-edge Interactive game expereince looks like circa-1998, then go to DQ.

Its one of those things, since its at WDW, they will never spend money on improving it unless they absolutely have to.

The maze was a highlight for me before they removed it, although its tricky to explain.

It was under the floor, there were these R/C exploration jeeps, and they each had a camera...then there were like 12 stations of a TV screen, steering wheel and you'd drive the jeep remotely through a "lost temple" to find treasure. I can't remember if it was themed to something specific from Disney or not.

Does anyone have pics of that area?

Disney Quest was fun and I really enjoyed myself, but I won't (pay) to go back and do it again. I really liked Pirates, the Aladdin sim game/ride and some of the classic games. My opinion is-you won't know if your family will like it unless you try it out. Discuss it with the family, look at what is offered and ask the kids if there is something to keep them occupied for a few hours.

If you have the money and the kids show interest, it might be worth it. If there's only 1 or 2 "attractions" that the kids will like-don't waste your time/money.

Now if someone said I could go to Disney Quest for free, I'd do it again.

There was one game our family really enjoyed but I can't remember the name. You got into a small dome shaped room (3-4 people) and were on another planet where you had to help people escape while the planet was being invaded. You shot the aliens and picked up the people. And if you did well enough it said at the end that the president was waiting outside to meet you. He wasn't there when we came out though.

I'm actually really happy to see some poor reviews of DQ on here. I have been to WDW numerous times since it opened and have yet to set foot in there. I always had so many things I wanted to do elsewhere on my limited time that I just never bothered.

I'm just finalizing my (very relaxed) itinerary for my trip next month - just noting where my dining ressies are and which parks have EMH I may want to take advantage of and realized that DQ is not really in the cards for this trip either.

I'm not a video game person, for my Disney is about food, shopping, photos and attractions and there is so much of that to do in my 5 days there that I don't think I'll regret missing DQ again this year.

I'm surprised yet somewhat glad to read the comments that echo my thoughts.

I have been to DQ once, I got to go for free and I thought it was pretty poor.

Some of the technology seemed dated (this was about 5 years ago too) and I'm not sure all of it was working.

I play video games at home so im quite used to them, yet i went for about 3 hours and I felt sick as a dog afterwards. Almost travel sick.... Which I don't normally get.
