Yesterday, as we turned the corner on pirates I was wondering if the fog screen projection was still Blackbeard, and sure enough I hear his voice but.. No fog, No projection. Has this happened to anyone else recently? It's such a coo and simplel effect and I was disappointed that it wasn't working.

The Orlando projection system is temperamental at the best of times. Plus it's location isn't the best with AC fighting the airflow.

I too rode the attraction yesterday and was surprised at the lack of projection. I will be back there for a long weekend in a few days, so maybe it will be back up.

Was actually there on Friday the 13th and did not see any projection or fog and heard the voice...to make matters worse...the ride shut down and we had to evacuate. We were stuck on POTC for about 30min.

I too rode yesterday and it was not there...but it disappears every once and while, I wouldn't be surprised if it was back to normal today.

It broke down yesterday as well. Complete evac. Luckily I wasn't on it.
You think they would take care of one of Walts babies, considering the amount of people traveling through due to the interest and publicity of the movies.

To be honest..It's Way better without it..Plus those 4 Added AA's and Audio they added removed would make it a heck of a lot better IMO.

I rode POTC twice about a year ago. The projection (Davy Jones) worked fine but the real waterfall shortly before the mistfall wasn't working. With no waterfall providing the sound of falling water (hence, the name), the mistfall was eerily silent except for Davy's voice. Later that week, everything was working fine. My next trip is in 2 weeks and I hope that something is working by then.

When we rode on the 10th, the waterfall and projection were working. However, on the 12th and everyday thereafter, no waterfall. Bummer.

Blackbeard.....Temporary?

I do believe that when they announced having Blackbeard instead of Davy Jones as the projection on the "Waterfall" they said it was going to be temporary. A promotion for the new movie.

We were there on Friday 13th. No mist or projection. But the voice could be heard. On another note, the cannons sounded different than before. Much more realistic. I think this is new since I rode it last about 3 months ago. Really sounds great.

Yes, they did say that but, alas, It's still Blackbeard. Projection, and the exit ramp spiel.

Was there last night, no video. But man was it foggy in the battle seen.

Oh my gosh.. The fog was a little overwhelming. Adds a creepy effect though.

We noticed this just after new year, really changed the feel of the scene. The cannon explosions in the water seemed grander as well, people we getting quite wet in the boat.

Really enjoyed it.

Blackbeard is lame.

What an underwhelming, useless "villain." He's half the reason the fourth film was so utterly forgettable. Unless they can come up with an adversary for Jack Sparrow slightly more intimidating than a guy in a powdered wig or a grumpy pirate with a gruff voice (oh yeah, and he can control zombies and magically shrink ships and... what? ...shoot fire out his boat and some other stupid contrivances), they shouldn't even bother making a fifth film, because it's been steadily downhill since the first.

GO AWAY Blackbeard!

The fog in the battle scene is awesome. In fact, that entire scene is the best scene in the attraction, imo.

People can argue all they want about Jack Sparrow etc. being added to the ride but IMHO, the audio in this scene is the best part of the refurb. From the film score to the roaring of the cannons, this scene gives me chills like never before. In the past, the cannons sounded more like steam escaping than the booming that one would expect and this is done with the same old sound system that's been used for ages. Just imagine what it would be like with a full audio update like DLR.
